Baby Seating at Restaurants

I'm taking my 7 month old DS - well, he's 4 months now, will be 7 months. Anywho, what is the seating situation for such young babes in the restaurants - he'll still be too little for a highchair, right? can I bring my stroller into the restaurant?

At 7 month, both of my kids were sitting in regular high chairs, so yours probably will too. If not, some restaurants have infant seats that you'll be able to use, if this is the case, you will not be allowed to bring in your stroller. IF all they have are the regular wooden chairs, you'll be able to bring in your stroller.

That's right. We're 2 adults and a toddler in a highchair, they count us as a party of 3.

We've been able to bring a stroller in when my daughter was sleeping in it. At least at the Kona Cafe, they let us do this but seemed absolutely baffled by the presence of a stroller. It was very strange, considering where we were. Other restaurants haven't reacted quite as strongly but they all discouraged us from bringing the stroller in unless absolutely necessary.

We took our ds at 7m last sept.. He was able to sit in a high chair. The restraunts all seem to have stroller parking at the front) We ate at Cali Grill, Boma, & Kona w/ him.

I don't think they like to have strollers in the restaurants, they take up a lot of room.

One exception is the Land Pavillion at Epcot (where Soarin' is located). I saw hammock styled chairs for infants there, KWIM? Strollers are not allowed in the building whatsoever.

I bet if you write Guest Relations they can tell you where else these seats might be located. Also, you can ask for such a chair when you make your ADR ("infant chair NOT high chair requested") and see what they say.

We were allowed to bring our stroller into the Coral Reef. Other times our son (8 months old) sat in a high chair. We purchased a high chair/ shopping cart cover from walmart and used it when he was in a high chair. It gave him more padding and gave us peace of mind from dirty seating.

While my one year old generally used a high chair last trip, a couple of times he was zonked out cold at our reservation times. I had no problem leaving him in the stroller at our 'Ohana dinner and Whispering Canyon lunch. I'm sure they don't want everyone parking strollers at the tables but in the case of a sleeping child at least, they were fine with it. It probably also helped that we don't have a jumbo sized stroller.

At seven months your baby should be able to sit in the highchair provided at the restaurants. Our DD when she was 2 was fast asleep in her stroller when we had an adult dinner at bluzoo and they didnt seem to care that the stroller was in that restaurant.

WE were allowed to bring in the stroller for the baby (3 months old last summer) to every TS restraurant we ate at (LeCellier, the Plaza, WCC, Trails End, Coral Reef, Kona Cafe, 50s Prime Time, Concourse SH). It was never a problem at all. Unless the restruarant wants to offer your an infant highchair (I have heard some places have them, but have never seen such a creature) they have no choice but to let you bring the stroller in. BTW, I did write to Disney last year and asked about infant high chairs and was told they did not have them....Just ask when you check in at each location.

You do need to include any human being in your party size. A high chair will take up just as much room as a regular chair. Same with the stroller if that is needed.

The reason for not being real thrilled with allowing strollers into the restaurants is (1) fire regulations (keeping aisles clear for certain widths) and (2) if they allowed all strollers into the restaurants, every kid that is in one will want to be wheeled to their table (OK - I know not all kids would do that but you get the meaning). It would be stroller mania.

I am not pointing you out, but just think about it. If everyone with a baby wanted to bring in a stroller, the place would have no room for servers and people to move around. Where I serve you rarely see it, but then again its not a theme park with people not having car carriers for the little baby's.

First of all, I agree with those who have said that at 7 months your child should be able to use the high chairs.

As to those we were allowed to bring strollers into TS restaurants, I honestly would not count on that. I have personally witnessed numerous guests being told absolutely no, even when the child was fast asleep and the family's table was ready. I also recall many other folks here on the DIS reporting similar experiences.

I think the policy at WDW is no strollers, but some people, at some times have been lucky.
