I have a 9 month old son who naps twice a day. His first nap is usually around 9:30-10:00. I may try to hold off alittle till maybe 10:30 or so. He doesn't nap well (if at all) anywhere else besides his crib. Sometimes he will fall asleep in the car. So i was wondering if anyone could tell me of a ride that I can bring the stroller on that he could fall asleep. Can you bring the stroller on the railroad or the tommorrowland transit authority? Also will they let me stay on it so he could get a deceit nap? What about animal Kingdom or epcot and rides there as well? thanks.

I don't know of any rides including TTA and Train that you can bring the stroller on except the monorail and ferry boat. I do have to say that my kids have typically napped on TTA, and the CMs are real use to people staying on the ride several times with sleeping babies. Alot of times I take my kids in a stroller to the Cosmic Ray's (eatery) and sit way in the back facing the castle. It gets real quiet around there. And sometimes my kids just pass out (even next to the really loud race cars :confused3 )

Here are some out of the way places for stroller naps:

In the rose garden at the MK.
In the garden at UK at Epcot when the band isn't playing.
Lots of out of the way places at AK.
MGM is tougher because it's always loud there...

Virginia is correct, no rides you can take the stroller on except maybe the paddlewheel boat in the MK?

You can stay on the train as long as you'd like.

If you are staying onsite, I think I'd just head back to your resort.

I agree with Anne to take your baby to a quiet area in the parks. Our babies had never slept in their stroller before going to WDW, and we were pleasantly surprised that they were able to nap so easily in the stroller. We always take our comfortable stroller from home, recline the seats, shade the babies with the canopies, and find some quiet areas to stroll or have a nice quiet meal.

A quiet area we enjoyed when our babies were that age is going through the International Gateway in Epcot (in the countries) and strolling around the Epcot resort area and boardwalk.

I have to agree with the TTA advice. There is just something about that ride that puts my youngest right to sleep. You could also try the ferry boat.I think the white noise of the engines would work well.

My son wouldn't nap in his stoller so I just rolled him onto the monorail and rode it in circles and he passed right out. Take a magazine or something to entertain yourself.

Great question! I have been wondering how my 8 month old will take his morning nap in the parks. We will go back to the room for the afternoon nap but can't go to the room twice. Guess I'll be spending alot of time on the monorail - I know this sounds odd but just sitting on the monorail reading a book and doing nothing else sounds like heaven to me. :flower: I guess I really do need a break!

I never expected my ds to sleep so well while we were at Disney. He was on a 2 nap a day schedule and kept to it perfectly, he'd get a little fussy in the stroller and I knew that he'd be falling asleep soon, so just made sure we rolled him around at a good pace for a few minutes (no stopping, etc.) and he'd be out cold within 15 min. I often just did this while DH took DD on a ride or two.
You know your child best, but he might surprise you while you are away. I was amazed at how my son adapted. :)

There are also child rooms at disney where you can change diapers and stuff that are quiet..they are also air conditioned.

You will be surprised at how your baby will fall asleep anywhere at WDW!!!! There is just so much stimulation that they will fall asleep where ever, whenever they need to! We started taking our kids at 8 months old and they would fall asleep on rides, in the stroller, etc.
You could also take the baby into the baby care centers. Each park has one. They have private nursing rooms with rockers. That would be a perfect place to get a baby to sleep. However, you can't take the stroller inside. So, if you have a heavy sleeper, then putting the baby in the stroller without waking would be easy. I really don't know of any ride other than what has been mentioned, that would let you on with a stroller, not even on the line.

When we took our first son to WDW he was just 7 mo old and was also an "only in his own crib" napper and a light sleeper. Prior to the trip, I spent a great deal of time worrying about how he would be able to nap in the parks (I worried about him sleeping in the hotel room at nights too). I pictured me dealing with a sleep deprived, miserable baby throughout the vacation. Once we were there I found that, as usual, all my worrying was for nothing. He actually slept MORE in WDW than he did at home! I guess it was all the stimulation- all those sights and sounds- combined with the fresh air. I found that he would fall asleep in the stroller (we reclined it when we knew he was sleepy) while we walked around, between attractions. Once he was out, instead of yanking him out to go on a ride, I would continue to wheel him around and do gift shops and enjoy parts of WDW that would not require me to take him out of the stroller. At home, he was the kind of baby that would wake to noises but in WDW he was ZONKED and would sleep through things that surprised me! Also, WDW is very stroller friendly. I distinctly remember that DS 7 mo. fell asleep just as it was time for our dinner reservations at Alfredo's. Well, I asked, and they said to bring the stroller right in! They took away on chair at our table and we wheeled the stroller under there. DS slept through the entire dinner and DH and I had a very enjoyable meal! He woke refreshed and happy just as we were done eating!
For our following trip, DS #2 was 12 mo. old and we found the same to be true for him, regarding his naps.

Same here! When we were lucky enough to get our twins to nap at the same time ;) , DH and I would take the opportunity to eat at a nice restaurant in Epcot! All of the restaurants are very accommodating.

This is so good to hear! I also have an only-in-her-bed type napper. My DD must be exhausted to fall asleep in the stroller, so I'm relieved to hear that we may be okay while at WDW. I really didn't want to have to back to the hotel 2x per day for naps.
