Will these be the formal names or are they just the nickname? They all seem like nicknames to me. Maybe it is the "ie" on the end that's not doing it for me.

Yea I am not a fan of any of these. They do sound like nicknames. I voted Maddie b/c I like the name Madison.

I would also dump the IE at the end of most of these. She will go through life having to spell her name for EVERYONE. It gets old fast. Stick with a more traditional spelling for her name and her life will be a lot easier (besides, you will never find any wall hangings, pencils, etc with her name on them).

I don't really care for any of them (sorry I'm too honest). I like Madison like another poster said.

My sister is pregnant and her husband and her like the names Matrix and Elecktra. I really hope she chooses something else!

I like Mollie--mainly because I have a dear friend named Molly. Oddly enough, her real name is Amalia--she's Hispanic and it's pronounced A-ma-lee-a but she goes by Molly.

I don't really care for them either, as they all sound like nicknames to me. I do like Maddie, although I like it as a nickname for Madeline (my DD's name!)

I also like Molly - but not Mollie.

NO none of them are nicknames---they are the real names - I hate nicknames I will call them what they are named unless it's some pet name like "sweetie"

Don't care about finding their name on stuff - could never find my name on stuff & I managed to survive & nowadays you can get it anything with your name on it pencils, mongramms---certainly not an issue & why I'd choose (or not) a name.

I don't think my dd has had any problems w/her name...she's Emilie - and yes, that E M I L I E.... & it's a real name - not a nickname....

THAT is why we are going with the "IE" on the newest baby....

OH FOOT I don't know why I'm bothering to explain this stuff! I dont' know why it matters or why I even asked.....sorry to waste your time!

As I said in your other thread I like the idea of sibilings with names that are similar like ending in IE

My girls both end in ca
and if we had a third it would have been rebecca to follow the pattern

I guess 'cause all the people on the other thread have been nice or @ least tactful telling me if they dont' like it....I'm after the NAME not the spelling - I didn't ask anyone about how to spell the name...

If it's any consolation, I got tons of flack when I told folks that if my baby was a boy I would name him Elvis. I had a girl so it ended up being a non-issue. One person even told me they considered that child abuse!? Go with your heart and enjoy that baby when it comes!
