Baby killer whale born in SWO

That is so exciting and great to hear! We will be there in a few weeks and can't wait to see the new baby!:thumbsup2

Im thinking that SWO, is finally getting some good news, for a change, as opposed to the tragedies of the year. Theyve lost 3 killer whales for various reasons, and Im sure that mom and calf are getting special attention.

in the wild whales give birth around 15. in captivity they breed them much, much earlier. (probably as the majority of whales in captivity have a much shorter lifespan - apart from poor lolita). the mother was first pregnant at 8.

thats why they won't get rid of tilly- he a whale sperm bank in the back pool.

wonder how long before they start training the baby?

anyone know?

saw the baby less the day after it was born. It was cut if you can call a 350 lb baby cute. They closed the big pool(no shamu show) and let mom and baby have it all. My kids named the baby Shamlette
