Baby it's cold outside....quick trip report

Just got back from our trip December 11 - 16.

We had an awesome time!

The weather? Everything from sunny and warm, to pouring rain and cold! Most of the time the sun was out (or trying to come out) and it was cool. Needed to wear a light jacket. Nights are cold enough for warm jacket and hats. The rain was crazy. Living in Seattle we see rain, this was pouring down rain. Ponchos were the only option - with an umbrella. I only wore my capri's the first day...every otherday it was jeans and layers.

The crowds? We saw it all....Super light (especially during the rain and if there is a threat of rain). The first night (Thursday) we managed to do quite a bit in 2 hours. Friday was ok most of the day, then got heavy at night. Saturday was INSANE! We gathered lots of fastpasses in the a.m. and were just fine. The line for Soarin' was 90 minutes! Sunday was busy until after the first parade, then everybody went home and both parks were amazingly light. We were in CA and walked on everything. We did Screamin' and TSMM (single rider line) about 4 times in a row. Monday was rain day, and well we pretty much had the parks to ourselves. Yesterday there were a lot of people, but no body was riding rides. All day Buzz was 5 minute wait. Indy got up to 25 minutes, but pretty much stayed at 10 minutes. Same story in CA. We walked on TSMM single rider line 2 times....to the very front! AMAZING. The only line we saw to speak of was for some reason Tower of Terror was 30 minutes...it was odd.

It was great and I would go again during the holidays in a heart beat.

Glad you had a good time. We were there the same time last year and I was surprised by hour cold it got in the evenings. We ended up buying hats and gloves in order to stay and watch the electric parade. We go this Feb, and I will be packing plenty of warm stuff for the evenings.

see...living in seattle has its benefits - being so used to rain it doesn't keep you from going to the parks! I lived there as a kid and I'm so used to the rain, it doesn't bother me much...its the cold I hate!

Its awesome that you got to walk on to so many rides. Glad to hear you had a good time, especially during the holiday crowded season!

We were there the 10th to the 14th and wore capris and shorts during the day and jeans or capris in the evening. We must have lucked out because it did not rain once on us during the trip. Sounds like we got out of there before the rain hit. I have to say Sat. needed some rain because it was crazy crowded.

same here...we must've lucked out too...we were there from 12/11 to 12/13...from seattle...we did get a bit of sprinkles...just a bit, but that was it, and that was saturday morning. we watched the fireworks thursday night 12/11...it was a bit chilly...but other than that, DH and I thought it was PERFECT weather!

Dec 18th Oregon all of it Especially any of our Mountain Pass are under a lot of Snow now turned to ICE

Temp here have been below freezing in Portland. Today it was a mix of snow, Rain, ice now. They are expecting more snow on the valley floor up to 5 in thur sunday.

Chains are Required in any mountain Pass, but especially the 1 going from Oregon into California.

We were there 10-13 (Wed-Sat) and I agree. Thursday was the best. Sat was OMG!!
