Hi everyone!

We are leaving for Disney in about 5 weeks and my DD will be almost 11 months old. She currently eats stage 3 baby food which I can only seem to find in glass jars. She is still gagging on puffs so I'm not sure if Cheerios, finger foods, etc. will be an option.

I know Disney does not allow glass containers in the parks, I'm assuming this includes baby food? I was thinking of maybe buying some of those squeeze pouches and bringing Dixie cups to use as a bowl, but I've mostly seen fruit purees and nothing "dinner"-like.

Also, we are flying so if I bought pouches would they explode? Maybe a silly question, I've never brought anything like that before.

Anyone have any experience with this age group and what did you end up bringing to eat?

From the Disney Website:
Glass containers (excluding baby food jars and perfume bottles)

I have flown with the the pouches before and did not have any issue. If you are concerned you can put them in a ziploc.

Has she never even eaten Cheerios at nearly a year? That was one of my kid's first 'solid' snacks.

Mine was eating mashed table food at that age, so can't imagine using the baby food. Some of that stuff is sooo hard - carrots, potatoes - tried feeding some to my daughter one day (in a pinch). Table food is much softer and mine sure liked it better.

Didn't take mine to the parks before 2 so don't know if the glass baby food jars are permissible.

We took glass baby food with no issues. And no problems feeding him in restaurants with the baby food! We took my son 3 times before 1 so let me know if you have any other questions.

No one will even blink at WDW. Security will check your bag and wave you through. No one at a restaurant will question what you feed your child. You do not have to order any food for the baby, and can feed them off your plate for free. We had zero issues. I packed my baby food in my checked bag so they would not break and were wrapped in ziplock in case of leaks.

There are also feeding chairs and whatever else a baby might need at the baby care centers.

It won't be problem taking them but if your child likes them warm that could be a problem. Personally at almost a year, I would feed her what ever you are eating. We went for my dd's first birthday and it was so easy to feed her from ours ( she had been all table food from 10 months).

The jars are fine to take into WDW and fine for your DD to eat;). Except for the weight of caring them, they are healthier than many kids meal and if she is not quite ready for puffs, many table food may not be ok for her. There is yogurt just about everywhere so if she will eat that you could supplement with that ir maybe a fresh banana, which should be just about everywhere.

My baby is now 9 months he likes the "dinner" pouches from Ella's kitchen. They are thicker with pieces and we find them at Target and you can buy the "spoon" that can screw in the end of the pouch to make feeding even easier.

At that age my dd could eat the pouches by herself, no need for a bowl. So you might give it a try before your trip.

We have tried Cheerios but she gags, her doctor has been having us try the puffs since they at least dissolve. I know it's a little on the slower side, my DS was eating table food by 1 year as well. She was slow to take to purees in the beginning though too, she seems to be on her own timetable. I would love it if she would eat some mashed table food but no luck with that yet.

That was my original plan, if she would eat table food I definitely would. She's just having a little trouble with solids, she gags and chokes :worried: She also will take the tiny chunks in the stage 3 baby food and spit them out. Hopefully she'll catch up soon, my DS was really into table food at that age too. Every kid is so different! :)

That's awesome, that you!

That is a great idea, she loves yogurt!

Oh that is so cool, I've never seen that before!

Just a suggestion but when my daughter was 13 months, she like your daughter was a little behind with table food (due to medical issues she was born with). I packed a box and shipped it to my resort with her food, snacks, diapers, wipes and anything else I thought we would need at the resort that I didn't want to take on a plane. I believe Disney will hold your package for 7-10 days before you arrive. That way you only need to bring what you need for traveling on the plane. My daughter is now 3 and we leave for Disney in about 2.5 weeks and I will again ship snacks and such to our resort for our convenience. :)
