cabins are pressurized, no problem there, or in the cargo hold.
security- no problem, they have seen baby formula before and they will not ask you to drink it.

No problems at all, we have travelled with both our kids as infants.

If you are checking a can of powder then that bag may be searched but if the can is new it won't be an issue.

If your talking about a diaper bag then don't worry if the container or bottle is unopened and just send it through x-ray. If its a freshly made bottle and baby is drinking it that shouldn't be a problem. If not they may have someone in the family sip it, this is the norm with any unopened beverage btw. I haven't flown with a baby in a while but have gotten used to sipping open beverages!!

No worries about cabin pressure in the checked baggage or the carryon.

Personally I would use the single serve bottles if your child likes the brands they are available in. If not they have the tubes of powder that mix with water. You can have empty baby bottles, sealed bottles of water and sealed pouches of powder and have everything fresh and ready to mix.

Don't worry and have a great trip.

baby sean sends his thanks and a burp :o

As everyone else has said, you won't have a problem. We've flown with bottles, formula, etc. many times since 9/11 without any hassles.

BTW, the TSA website says that agents are NOT ALLOWED to require anyone to take a drink of liquids that are being brought on board. :)

Wow - at Logan we were required to sip everything when going through security. My coffee was no problem but my dd's soymilk was - and of course she was to freaked out to do it!!

I still think I will comply next time rather than make any kind of fuss with security, YMMV.

Giving a little one a bottle during take-off and landing can be helpful to relieve the pressure in their ears. You might to take more than two though, in case you experience any delays.

Opal gave you good advice.

I flew with my (then) 7 month old x-country and
found it worked well coming/going to try and time
his feedings for takeoff and landing.
This way he really wanted to latch on and suck
the bottle while the plane was experiencing
the change in pressure.

You definitely want to take more than 2 bottles, tho.
Delays happen, especially with having more security.
And I hate to say it, but in the event and aftermath of an emergency you don't want to be searching for something to feed your baby!

FYI, if you want the bottles warmed sometimes the flight attendants can help you warm it.
Even bringing you a cup of hot water would do the job.
(But obviously not while they're super busy!)

Happy landings!

You can put water in the bottle for emergencies when the baby needs to suck something. However some folks have said that this increases the frequency of diaper changes.
