Just coming in because I had something great happen today.

There's a senior at our school. I've kind of adopted him as a prodigal son. He needed to pass the SC HSAP (Exit Exam) or her would not graduate. I've known him since he was 9. This week, he got a basketball scholarship to two different colleges, but without that HSAP, it meant nothing.

Today, he was called to the main office. Wouldn't go. Comes to me, "Miss Amanda, I'm scared. Go with me." So I (5'2" takes him 6'7") to the office.

He passed.

I could do back flips, but instead, I've been crying of happiness all day.

All those extra hours of tutoring paid off.

That is great! That boys family must be so thrilled for your help.

I put in my resume for two different jobs for the school system today. A secretary/treasurer for a new integrated arts school opening up in the fall and for the registrar at the high school.

Between the two, the secretary job would "pay" more (hourly breakdown). However, the registrar job is a LOT more secure. At least secretaries still get part of the summer off. The other position is year-round.

Either way I look at it, either job would nearly double my current income.

It's no secret that I've been having issues with the current administration and the secretary position would be under the principal I've been with this year scared1 but it's a job.

What was even worse was passing our assistant principal walking into our administration building as I was leaving from dropping off my letter of intent.

amanda that is FANTASTIC!!! I can't imagine the feeling.

At least not until I upgrade to the newest version... in a few years.

Actually, we've just discovered a coffee that fits the Keurig but instead of a plastic cup, it has a mesh cup. It's rounded in shape and is designed for several of these single-serve machines. So here's hoping....

Best of luck with one of these positions, kwit!! Switching jobs can be awkward, especially in the same company/system! But you know you're doing what you need to do, and everyone else just needs to deal.



And PaMom, congrats to your DD!! Working with these alpacas sounds fun. My DH loves them and if we had land and some extra $$, he'd love to get a couple.

ME TOO!!! It's much cooler and drier this morning. We had a line of severe t-storms roll through last evening....I sat on my covered deck and watched the show!

We had severe t-storms too, but I was already in bed. The dogs were freaked. The hail bouncing off the metal room above my bedroom was SO loud.

I hate to complain when the sun is out, but the cold wind is not pleasant. Brrrr the wind makes me cold. 50's with a cold wind is not enjoyable. Maybe the wind will calm down later.

I was thinking the same thing this morning!...it's still breezy here but around 70*. There's not a cloud in the sky and I'm very happy about that.
