I am SO over family.

Too much drama.

And all we went to was a baby shower.

I have a solution for that: it's called "avoidance-at-all-costs." Not always easy to implement, but I guarantee it works.

DH got a text from the landlord yesterday, telling us that the town has raised the water/sewer rate by 10% and if he needs to, he'll have to raise the rent (our water is included in rent). Fan-flippin'-tastic. Thing is, I already conserve. In the cooler months, the boys only shower every other day, but of course that will change in the summer. Then, in another 6 weeks, they will be home all day instead of out of the house at school. So, despite my best efforts to cut back, we will actually be in a situation where we'll be using more water, simply because of logistics.

Time to find a house in the woods.....

We've got the crud going around my house, just in time for DH to go out of town on business leaving me and my crud with the cruddy kids. I tried to refuse to be sick but it was more stubborn than me this time. How unusual.

If the LL raises the rent it would be only to cover the higher cost of W/S. I don't know what that would equate to. But I'm pretty much at the top of my rent budget as it is.

Thanks, me too. Although when we get back from FL I think we will really start to look for a house rental. Yesterday at work my co-worker was telling me how she'd spent the weekend prepping her garden, and all I could think was how much I miss being able to do that.

Speaking of work, no work today. I am really, really hoping this is the one day for the week. Unfortunately today is the day that DS15's juvenile officer comes for her monthly check-in (he got himself into a bit of mischief over the winter....). I don't like her. She's personable enough on the surface but you can tell she likes her power. Ugh. If it wasn't pouring rain today I'd conveniently be out for a run during that time.

Otherwise I have no idea what I'll do with my day! Probably do a lot of reading, maybe some scrap booking.
