You'd be surprised. I may not have had the gap in employment you do, but I got hired after being a stay at home mom because of my previous experience in the field I was going into.

So you never know. :grouphug:
That's what has kept me out of new and better jobs recently. All of the hires have the prior experience even though I've owned a computer since I was 3 and KNOW how to run programs from DOS.

Like TK said, you NEVER know!

Worse they can say is no!

Huntsman? They are just big hairy spiders that get sucked up the vacuum cleaner. After that, the hard bit is in finding someone game enough to empty out the bag.

It's the red back and the white back spiders you have to worry about. Those are the poisonous one.

I'm not sure when the Dr Who episodes were shown....I'm such a bad fan.

:scared1: NO NO NO NO NO I don't do spiders!

Mornin', Smiley. How goes it?

I had a little extreme couponing fun this morning. 15 boxes of cereal for under $10. Came out to .67 a box.

So proud. :lmao:

Now I'm getting together my real shopping list (which I do at a different grocery store) and I fear my bill will be much higher. ;) Going to pick up groceries for the boys for while I'm gone and get my last minute items for my trip, like protein bars.

Then it's laundry, laundry, laundry and getting the house relatively clean. :thumbsup2

:woohoo:

I have an Associates in Business, but I have not used it in ages. YEARS ago I was an administrative assistant to the executives, but all the computer programs I used are long gone. I could learn quickly, but places want you to know the programs before you start. Maybe an adult ed class would do the trick. I have not been in the work force for many years b/c I stayed home with my kids. Some of that time I provided daycare in my home, worked in daycare and I'm currently a private daycare provider. Who is going to want to hire me after being out of the workforce for so many years? Ugh What have I done to myself? Probably was not the best plan. :worried:

I haven't worked since 06, not by choice, believe me I would really like to work.

I guess anything is possible.

....wow, busy day!
::yes::

Party on, Wayne!

Party on, Garth!

Sorry, flashbacks. In all seriousness, of which there's very little in my house right now, have fun!
:rotfl2: Game on!!! :thumbsup2 It should be a good day. The couple we are celebrating today are very special friends of ours and this baby has been a long time coming. Sad thing is, NEITHER of their families support them so the dad is actually throwing the shower. Had I known, I would've taken care of it.

I'll be taking the kids to go shopping here soon. I love buying for babies!!!

My husband is outside mowing our lawn, hoping to finish it before it starts raining. It looks sooo windy right now. I'm trying to decided whether or not I think he'll finish before it starts. :scared1:
DH raced the rain the other day. We have a 1/2 acre and he BARELY got it in. It's been too wet since so it's a good thing he mowed!

Game on!!! LOL

I don't mean to be all Suzy Sunshine, because I know it's definitely tough out there. But give it a shot. You absolutely never know.

I need to go get ready for an old friends funeral now. :( Sadly I had not seen him in a few years, but a group of us used to go camping together every year. I have seen his brother on occasion though.

I am so sorry to hear that. :grouphug:

So sorry to hear Sadie!

May you go and remember his life with a smile.

Go! Celebrate your friend!

....wow, how weird....I had lapsed my time on the DIS without posting and it bumped me off. However, I couldn't sign back on again....:confused3

:scared1: NO NO NO NO NO I don't do spiders!

I'm with you. Spiders freak me out.

I think you did the right thing staying home with your kids. I was lucky that my work kept me on freelance when I decided to stay home this last time and I was able to go back when I was ready and there was an opening. Have you tried to use who you know to find a job? Having someone get you a foot in the door can really make the difference. Then once you are in, you will wow them with your skills and personality. :thumbsup2

I hope that you have included in your resume:
1. Managed my own small business
2. Worked as a private contractor
3. Trustworthy

Brushing up your skills in the 'newer' computer programs is a great idea. :thumbsup2

Condolences.

....

No.

It's Frosted Flakes. Can you say NOM??? :teeth:

....

Now, see, that just would not work for me. First of all, I don't even have anywhere to keep 15 boxes of cereal!!! And as much as I currently love Frosted Flakes, I guarantee you I'd be sick of them by the 3rd box.

But, $.67/box is a good deal for you!!

So basically, we're all sporting this smilie today :laundy:

.....

Nope, not me! I've started doing my laundry mid-week after work. Today we went out to the coast (Maine). It was SO windy and the surf was way up. This particular beach is normally quite calm. It was the far outer effect of that storm that passed by Bermuda yesterday.

:scared1: NO NO NO NO NO I don't do spiders!

ME. NEITHER. I actually looked up Huntsmans on YouTube. You just don't even wanna know.....:faint:

Maybe your post count broke the server???

:rotfl2::lmao:

.

I seem to be the one at the end of the vacuum all the time.

When I was living with my parents, my siblings just freaked out whenever one came a-calling.
And now....DH is no better. He freaks as well.

Can I just say that as the vacuum is sucking, I'm screaming internally....NOooooooo?
