Howdy everyone. We were supposed to have a warm sunny weekend, but that has changed. I'm trying not to be too irritated by it. Hope you guys are enjoying better weather.

Got my truck today!!
'99 Ford Explorer - forest green, tan leather interior, sun/moon roof, crankin' stereo/CD!, power everything, 4x4. It needs a new exhaust (DH can do) and one other thing (DH's mechanic will do) but given all that, we got it for a steal. It's only seating for 5, unlike the Expedition which will seat 8, but the cargo will easily hold a couple of bikes. It's also a V6, which will suck less gas than the big V8 of the Exp.

I won't be able to drive it until after FL, but it'll be worth the wait!

The sun finally came out around 1:30 and we had a high of 72.

Congrats on the truck. I'd rather have a V6 than V8 too.

Great news on the Explorer! I used to have one and I loved it. We traded down to a smaller SUV and I hated it. That's why I got the big bus. It really is nice to have the room when you have kids and lots of kid gear. I car pool for my DD12 and need the space for the kids.

We are getting ready to head out to meet my dad for brunch. Then what we do depends on the weather. If it's nice, we'll go home to the pool then dinner at the Melting Pot. If it's not nice, we'll go to the Rays game then the Melting Pot for dinner.

We used to have a 94' explorer before they changed the front end style... and we got 250K miles out of it before the trans started to slip... but DH still didn't want to get rid of it until it was parked on the street and someone rear ended it (while it was parked) and bent the frame... so he had no choice to junk it... we got a lot of insurance out of the crash and he still cries about it till this day, that he still wished he had that car. Beswt of luck with it!!!!!

Good to hear of your experience; we knew people with an older one (not sure the year, but it was the older front-end style too) and she had problem after problem. I'm a Ford gal, so unless a vehicle is known to be a complete lemon, I figure all cars eventually have something go wrong. I also see lots of these Explorers still on the road, and that's a good sign. This one, for its age, has a real good body and the engine and surrounding parts are nice and clean and run quiet. DH got the Carfax on it, too.

Mornin, ladies (or rather almost afternoon). I'm at work today, even though I was not scheduled to work today. Yuck.

In fact, there seems to be nothin to do, so I'm about to just head on home.

Either way, congrats on the Explorer, LM. I had a 2001 Explorer and loved mine. When I traded in/down, I had 158,000+ miles on it. No problems other than normal stuff. When I traded it in, I hated to do it, but needed something with better gas mileage.

Then got my truck 3 years later with the big honking 5.3 V8.
