Morning all....
I had a horrifying evening....some of you may have seen my FB post. DS10 had a class play last night at the town hall. When it was over, everyone was filing out of the building and as we were heading to our car, suddenly one of DS10's friends was hit by a car...... I heard it happen; he actually saw it.
The good news is, it doesn't appear to be serious (DS10 said it was the front corner of the vehicle that clipped him and he sort of pushed himself away from it); it happened right in front of the police station (and IN the crosswalk I might add!!!
) and an officer was out there in like 2 seconds.....the First Responders were there in less than a minute, and the ambulance in less than 2. They brought out the back board but ended up putting it away, which is a really good sign. Everyone was really shaken up as you can imagine. What an awful, awful thing.
The most moving thing for me personally involved my DS12....he and DS15 were riding bikes right in town so they knew something was up. DS12 walked up to me and asked what had happened.....I was shaking and crying as I told him one of his brother's friends had just been hit....He walked over to me and said "Mom....." and wrapped his arms around me and gave me a huge hug. I just had no words.....

I'm hoping that today the teachers have some word on this boy's condition. What a shake up for the class. I'm sure they'll do something like a big card or draw pictures or something. I'm sure the dad is waking up this morning and thanking God that he still has his son today.
