Agreed about the longest nine months....

And.. I LOVE.. LOVE .. LOVE Carribean Beach... the theme... and the brightly colored bldgs... not to mention pirates.... (hey you and DH could ask for a pirate room...! )

One thing we did notice though... is it's spread out, but they have the busses that do the loop... we learned that sometimes it was faster to get off on the first stop and walk to your "island" a few times we did that if we had to run to the room to pick something up... and we would actually catch the same bus on the way out. check out the maps and figure out where all of the stops are. I'm jealous... I want to go back... and I think the pirate rooms would be fun...

....I guess, to each his own.....hated CBR! Worst service at a resort ever and everything was so far away....

I do remember when we did the behind the scenes tour years ago.. that the maintenance garage they showed us, had alot of the different cans they were painting.. like when you're in adventure land it might look like bamboo... or in future land might look like .. the future... you know what i mean. but each can is designed to fit in with the location it's representing... I always took notice too after our tour... see that's what set's Disney apart... they pay attention to the details.. and not just put a receptical to throw trash away.. they don't have to do it.. but they do.

....oh, now you're just trash-talkin'....

Sorry you had a less-than-magical experience there. TarzansKat has stayed there a bunch of times and always loved it. I don't mind the distances, either, but then again I'm weird like that.

It's a friday.... and you got disney mail... It just doesn't get any better than that!.... Except maybe if it's a friday and you were in Disney!

I know what you mean about the walks... I love the walks at POR... it's just beautiful... CBR is nice,... but for walking.. POR beats it.. CBR is still one of my favorites... I like the fact it's close to Epcot too... but the resort is very spread out.. so as long as you don't mind the walk.. just watch out for snakes... ( we saw a BIG one when I was there with the girls.. but it just slithered away and hid under some plants.. )... but I've heard you see them everywhere... But that's the biggest one I saw, and it was at CBR...

I tried posting from my phone a while back and I don't know if it took.

I got a new job that I started July 21. It's ok. I still don't know what I'm supposed to do. The supervisor hasn't gotten a chance to go over that with me. For the first week and a half I sat with someone do their job because I kinda sorta need to know what they do so I can understand my job. After that I got to sit at my desk and the boss never got to me because he was preparing to go on vacation. Then he went on vacation. On Monday he came back from vacation and never met up with me to discuss my job. I'm running out of ways to make myself look busy.

In honor of Robin Williams and us doing drive by fruiting's..............

I hope you get to sit down with your superviser and work out your job. There is nothing worse than trying to make work when you don't know what you're supposed to be doing.

When I took my first solo trip in '10, I had a chatty bus driver at one point who told us that there are over 2,000 trash can designs throughout the World. I thought that was a very interesting and little-known fact, so I have made it a mission of mine to photograph as many as possible! .

Bravo! I'm so happy you found your goal in life.

Great idea - I am so stealing it! Hmm, one more thing to add to my Disney photo list ... DH already thinks I'm nuts. Me taking photos of trash cans at Disney will only confirm it.

I should put together an album on my Photobucket account of the ones I've photographed so far. It'd be nice for me, too, to see how many I actually have! I doubt I'll ever come even close to getting them all (considering all the resorts, and who has time to resort-hop just for trash can pics?! ).

Woohoo! It's always a good day when you have Disney mail.

Don't talk to me about snakes and spiders!!!

So far this spring/summer, we've had at least one of each of the poisonous species of snakes in the yard. I've lost count of the various species of spiders and non-poisonous snakes we've seen this year. We're about a mile from a river and there are numerous ponds and creeks nearby. Our property backs up to the wooded section of an old farm, still owned by a local family. We have lots of wildlife.

I leave the non-poisonous snakes alone, unless they're uncooperative. The poisonous ones are history. We only missed dispatching one so far this year, and that's because DH had to come and tell me first, on his way to get the ax. When he returned to the scene of the snake spotting, the sneaky little slitherer had vanished. We think he's one of the ones DH found dead in the pool filter.
