Babnanas 11: "Boo-boo's are OUT, Toast is IN….

One lesson I took home from this trip: I will never, never, EVER go to the Studios during Star Wars weekends again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yikes.....

.....:scratchin yes, I suppose it COULD be really embarrassing leaving your Darth Vader costume at a home.....:confused3 [ popcorn:: ]

But, even a trip to Disney when you're not feeling well is better than no trip to Disney! DH and I are planning a trip for next May. It's been far too long since we've done anything like that at all; our 20th anniversary came and went in 2012 and we did exactly nothing to celebrate (there are reasons for that). Haven't done much since then, either, and this past spring we "celebrated" our 22nd by dealing with our oldest son having been arrested the night before. :( I'm tellin' ya, it's been one helluva year. SO!.....our 23rd anniversary will be celebrated in the World!!

And I guess that's my update in as much of a nutshell as I could fit it in!...

....well, life is like a pendulum - it swings one way, but eventually must swing the other....:thumbsup2

Definitely sounds like ups and downs, LegoMom3. Hope things are working out with your DS.

Take care of yourself!

Uh.. yeah.... I feel the same..... I feel like we'll never get back .. My DH is less than receptive to the idea of going back... he is always like we can go other places.. we've been there... (the same guy who is currently in Lake george for the 4th year in a row... ) I think I will just have to plan it... with the boys... they need a trip.. And then DH is like.. lets plan a week at the jersey shore... (uh.. no... that's not a vaction to me.. We live close enough that we can go down the shore for a day... even over night iin a hotel.. but the idea of renting a house.. for a week, that I will have to cook and clean, and then bring home tons of sandy stuff to wash, and cook etc.. NOT a fun time for mom... Not to mention the cost of a rental, and beach access plus boardwalk games and food... it would cost more than Disney... seriously.. more... And I wouldn't even feel like it was a vacation.. so.. sorry kids.. mom votes no to the beach for a week... don't get me wrong.. I do like the beach ... for a day.. but it's not worth spending my vacation there...

In any event.... Lego Mom.... keep a positive attitude.. and good things will happen.. start thinking of the anniversary trip... and the next one will be magical...

Ugh, yeah, daisyyy, I agree with you on the whole week-long beach vacation. Our extended family used to do a long weekend at the beach every fall, but that also meant that there were 6 adults there to all pitch in with meals and the kids and such. I actually don't mind cooking on vacation, but dealing with beach sand is just yuck.

I am really looking forward to our May trip! DH keeps saying this will be the longest nine months of his life, and I keep reminding him that no, the longest nine months of your life actually happened three times when we were expecting our children!! :rotfl: We are staying at Caribbean Beach Resort this time, wanted somewhere new with no prior memories so we just totally make our own. I've always wanted to stay there, but never could with 5 of us (although I hear that they are or have added Murphy beds in some rooms, like at POR!).

Agreed about the longest nine months....:lmao:

And.. I LOVE.. LOVE .. LOVE Carribean Beach... the theme... and the brightly colored bldgs... not to mention pirates.... (hey you and DH could ask for a pirate room...! ) :thumbsup2

One thing we did notice though... is it's spread out, but they have the busses that do the loop... we learned that sometimes it was faster to get off on the first stop and walk to your "island" a few times we did that if we had to run to the room to pick something up... and we would actually catch the same bus on the way out. check out the maps and figure out where all of the stops are. I'm jealous... I want to go back... and I think the pirate rooms would be fun...

I actually don't mind the size of this resort. One of the things I loved so much about POR is the nice long coffee walk I get each morning. That walk at CBR should be epic. I don't ever request a preferred room, so I should be "out there" and that's fine with me. The loop bus would be good in rainy weather, though!

The pirate rooms do look fun but I'm too cheap to spring for the extra cost! :rotfl2: As it is, I should be staying Value, but since this is a special trip for just DH and I, I couldn't say no to a Mod. Actually, I have since discovered that I could get a DVC studio room at AKL for even less!!!.....but, first, DH is already sold on CBR. Two, that is subject to availability. Three, I've stayed there and we want someplace totally fresh and new. And, finally, once you book a DVC room by renting points, there's no turning back - you are committed!! (I mean, I'm committed to the trip, but life happens, y'know?!)

I'm not going to bother with a TR, but if anyone cares to take a peek at some of my pictures, you can see them here:

Over the top-right photo you can choose "View as slideshow" and sit back and enjoy!

ETA: I have noticed that when in slide-show mode, you only see the pic's "title", and not any further description that I may have added. If you want all that, just look at them one at a time manually. :)

Thanks for the link.

Your trip looks amazing. I like that I finally get to "meet" you. F&G looks very colourful. So lovely seeing all those flowers and foliage. Do you have a thing for trashcans? :thumbsup2

When I took my first solo trip in '10, I had a chatty bus driver at one point who told us that there are over 2,000 trash can designs throughout the World. I thought that was a very interesting and little-known fact, so I have made it a mission of mine to photograph as many as possible! :thumbsup2

Boy.. we must be bored.. we'll talk about anything... now we're talking trash!!

I do remember when we did the behind the scenes tour years ago.. that the maintenance garage they showed us, had alot of the different cans they were painting.. like when you're in adventure land it might look like bamboo... or in future land might look like .. the future... you know what i mean. but each can is designed to fit in with the location it's representing... I always took notice too after our tour... see that's what set's Disney apart... they pay attention to the details.. and not just put a receptical to throw trash away.. they don't have to do it.. but they do.

I should put together an album on my Photobucket account of the ones I've photographed so far. It'd be nice for me, too, to see how many I actually have! I doubt I'll ever come even close to getting them all (considering all the resorts, and who has time to resort-hop just for trash can pics?! :lmao: ).

.

send the link if you can... Or.. post a picture one at a time and see if we can figure out where it's from.... I'm up for a game of NAME THAT GARBAGE CAN
