;) Ya know, it's a totally irrational fear and I know it. But I have no desire to get over it. :confused3

I hate them. My kids don't....guess whose the butt of their snake jokes? It's worse, because I have gotten 3 KNOWN snakes in my house in the last 10 year, hate to think of how many unknown snakes.

I like them outside for the job they do. I, of course, was kidding all in good fun. :goodvibes

On a side note, my oldest son has a pet snake, but I never see it. Better that way. When it moves up in the "size" of food it eats, I do like to watch, don't know why.

In a few weeks it will move up to LARGER rats......but then again it lives in a glass tank too.

It looks like a snake in the grass to me. :rotfl: If I would have come upon it this would be me. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I'm just not a snake person.

I love snakes. I'd love for a milk snake as a pet. they're so beautiful.

Years ago my dad accidentally whacked a decently-sized non-poisonous snake with a weed-whacker. It was very much alive, but wounded. He said I should show it to mom. Mom was inside, but looking out the window as she ironed. I picked up the snake, and, walking towards the window with it, held it up with a grin for my mom to see. Dad said, "No, take it inside and show her." I looked at mom, grinned some more, and, pointing to the door, silently conveyed she would soon be getting a much better look. She ran for the door. So did I. I won. ;) I opened the door as she was trying to lock it and she was, um, "delighted" to get an up-close-and-personal experience with the fella. :teeth::p

Now that's funny!

I feel the same way. I HATE SNAKES!!!! We have little garter snakes here but too many. Over the past two years my cats have managed to bring 4 snakes into my house (and those are the ones I've seen). Needless to say I let out a loud scream and I'm out of my house in about 0.03 seconds. The strange part is that the only outdoor access my cats have is in 8' x 8' caged enclosure off the side of my house accessed via a cat door in a window. It just shows you that snakes aren't very intelligent creatures if they are willing to enter a cage with 2 cats. I just hate the feeling of not being comfortable in my own home, wondering if there is a snake hiding somewhere.
:scared1: :scared1:

Very cool pics! Thanks for sharing them. We don't get anoles here, but we get nice alligator lizards. :)

Thanks to this thread I have a lovely Pink tag now...thanks! :thumbsup2

I like snakes :goodvibes I catch them by the tail at the WDW resort so I can get a good look. I like lizards and frogs too.

I depise snakes. I am so afraid of them; I refuse to drive over them for fear they will jump in my car (yeah, I'm a nut!)

We have a few cats outside. About a year ago, one cat had caught a snake and was feeding it to kittens. We call her Cookie the Wonder cat (she caught the snake and she is blind in one eye). I LOVE that cat.

Holy Cow! What the heck is that?? Makes the baby I took the photos of look like nothing.

Come on now, was that really in YOUR pool?

Yep in my pool , but it was lot smaller than it looks,,, it did appear to have just eaten somebody though.

I think it was a hog nose, going by pictures on the internet, it could flaten out its head sorta like a cobra.

I'm sorry, I know all about the wonderful things snakes do for our ecological system (DD's BF was an Ag major before he graduated, and they actually take classes in that sort of thing), BUT THE ONLY GOOD SNAKE IS A DEAD SNAKE!!!

(I return you now to the snake lovers... ;) )

Ooo, Hog Nose snakes... we use to have them when I lived in Plymouth, MA. They liked toads. It is way cool the way they can make themselves look like cobras

I found an albino one once and a local museum gave it a new home because it was so unusual. :teeth:
