I saw him/her on the side of the house earlier today. In fact one of my cats thought it would be fun to play with it. :sad2: That cat is not too bright.

Then a few minutes ago I saw something move right outside the front window so I took this photo from inside the house.

Then I went out to get a close up. :teeth:

He/she was thinking anoles for dinner and they went up the wall.

After getting some really nasty stares, I decided to let him go on his way.

I know there are many on here who don't care for snakes but they are truly magnificent to see. pixiedust:

I prefer to see my snakes behind a glass in a public venue I have paid to enter....thank you very much. Yet another reason I don't live in Florida.

Yes we have snakes....but those pictures are from a book, and were taken in the fields or mountains....not in a front yard....lol.

Also you notice we don't have Lizards crawling up the side of the house either.....lol

Aww don't be jealous. :rotfl:

Not that YOU'VE noticed anyways!

:teeth:

I actually have never seen a snake near my house. I know they are around cuz some of my neighbors have complained about them, but we do have a preserve area where I like to think they live. :goodvibes

Well, I for one live in a state that snakes are abundant and I can not stand them or the thought of them! They just give me the absolute heevie jeevies!!! The only place I like to see them is at a zoo where they are behind a safe glass- I hope! I'm glad the OP got great pictures- they are good ones. I just hope I don't see one that close to my window!
BTW- I did see one on the road in front of my house last week- did everything I could to run over it twice.

Virgo10 - Nice pics. Always enjoy when you share. :):sunny:

foolishmortal - I see you're living up to your username, opening up a snake thread. ;):jester:

Ewwww, a black snake slithered across the street in front of me yesterday. I was a little too slow or I would've ran it over.

Hey I like pics of them and Like I said behind glass, but never would you catch me running in my house to grab a camera and stand next to it taking pics....I am secure enough in my manhood to admit that!

We have alot of gardner snakes around our house and we actually enjoy having them around. I found one out in the yard and he had a bite out of his side (there is a house nearby with 14 outside cats and they like to eat the snakes...or at least torture them). He was still alive so we put him next to the rocks where some of them live and he didn't make it. :( We were kinda bummed.

Why, oh why, oh why do I torture myself by opening these SNAKE threads???? It's not like it wasn't clearly labeled.

I'm a masochist.

:scared1:

We had a corn snake in our house a couple of weeks ago. Bit my cat. The snake was a baby, but caused an infection in my cat's foot. She came close to losing the foot.

I actually like the snakes, they eat, rodents and frogs.

Roberta, great pictures. :)

We use to have 2 snakes as pets. A king boa the other a sand snake.

foolishmortal, dude your siggy picture is worse than a couple of snakes.

Years ago my dad accidentally whacked a decently-sized non-poisonous snake with a weed-whacker. It was very much alive, but wounded. He said I should show it to mom. Mom was inside, but looking out the window as she ironed. I picked up the snake, and, walking towards the window with it, held it up with a grin for my mom to see. Dad said, "No, take it inside and show her." I looked at mom, grinned some more, and, pointing to the door, silently conveyed she would soon be getting a much better look. She ran for the door. So did I. I won. ;) I opened the door as she was trying to lock it and she was, um, "delighted" to get an up-close-and-personal experience with the fella. :teeth::p

I wish I'd had my camera handy a few minutes ago. I was outside watering and heard a high pitched calling sound from over head. Looked up and there was an Osprey flying by and it was only about 50 feet up. I pointed the hose up at it and it came even lower to investigate. When it figured out it wasn't something to eat it kept on going but very slowly.

The wildlife down here just simply amazing. :goodvibes

We like snakes here too. I used to be afraid but since DD came along, that changed. She's had a few for pets and loves them like they're fuzzy, cute puppies or kittens. I've even brought one in the house because it got cold out in the garage. (Trouble was, it got out of the cage...)

Not sure if it is this way in FL or not but we have blue tails here in TN and they lay eggs in May and hatch around the 4th of July so that won't be long til we see BABIES!!!!
