Sorry to hear this bad news for AWM and her family. It sounds like she and the family are okay. Hannan hit us, but we lost power for about 10 hrs and that was hard enough. Take care AWM and I will keep your family in my prayers.

My brother and his house are fine! They have power and water as of yesterday. My SIL said that there were signs down, roofs destroyed, fences down all over the neighborhood, but fortunately their house was untouched.

DH's brother and his wife, that are staying with us, live on the coast about 40 miles east of Galveston and they can't return home yet. No power, water, sewer. There is no gas and no groceries stores are available. But BIL's work (he works for the state) wants him to return to work on Tuesday- where is he supposed to stay? And what is he supposed to do for gas to get to work if he uses most of what he has to get home? His wife will stay with us until there is power- she's a scrapper so we will be working on my swaps together!

return to work???? are they kiddin???? with no gas to get there and back. that's the state for you. really.

Just spoke with Ann. Good news is that the wind finally died down enough for them to be able to get the roof back onto the garage and after trying two different places her DH was finally able to find some gas. Bad news is that they probably won't have power for days. They also don't have any running water. She was able to make coffee this morning although it was instant.

The boys are home too - school is out. Needless to say she won't be able to work swaps. She'll be pushing out the due for Toppers and Tags to September 29th.

I conveyed everyone's well wishes. We only talked for a few minutes so we wouldn't use up her battery...

Just spoke to Ann. Today she managed a 1.5 gallon *very* cold shower today

School is still closed. She is excited that it sunnier today and she can at least see enough to be able cut some of her mats and toppers but she still can't use her bug

Is there anything she needs that we can send her? Like do they have a camp stove and need propane to heat water or need a solar shower or, or, or?

Our offices in Houston have been hit hard by Hurricane Ike over the weekend. Everyone is safe, but some lost their homes and there is alot of property damage.
