Beginning on Aug 21, Garden Grill at the Land Pavillion in Epcot will revert back to the old menu, with one change. The Garden Grill will be serving all you care to eat Flank Steak, Fried Catfish, a Vegetarian selection and instead of the chicken, it will feature smoked pork.

Thanks to all of you who wrote in your comments, this has been made possible. All of us who always preferred the previous menu thank you!~ :sunny:

No way, seriously? That is crazy (in a good way).

But what are they going to do with all the gravy? I foresee a 'Living with the Land' refurb.

Every time we went by there last week (usually on our way to Soarin'), there was never a line. The tables usually only had a few people seated at them. I refused to even consider eating there since the menu change, since I hadn't heard one good thing about it.

agnes!

I hope this is true! I was a little upset that they messed with the menu in the first place and I had removed it from our list of ADR's I wanted to get for our next trip. If they go back to the old menu I will be adding it back to our list. :)

Garden Grille is now officially back on my list of Places to Eat.

That's great news! obviously the financial impact plus the guest response did have an impact. Great to see the mouse taking action.

As I mentioned on that 'other GG thread', my server and the chef were both interested in my reaction to the food, and hinted that it was unpopular....

See, now we have to work on Ohana to get their menu back to our favs of rice and green beans!! ;)

EXCELLENT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Garden Grill "was" a must-do every trip, but as I posted on the "other" ;) thread, I wouldn't go back with that swill. Now I can rejoice again!

And I agree wholeheartedly with eeyore45 - let's get on the new crusade to SAVED 'OHANA!!!!!!!!

Well, I for one will be going to 'Ohana next month and will make them know that I, DH, BIL, MIL, FIL want the rice and green beans back - or at least the green beans! :)

HOLY COW!!! Woo Hoo! How do you know this? Do the Dining CMs have this info? I just got off the phone with them so I really don't want to call right back. Now I'm trying to figure out how to stuff it into our already VERY full dining plan. :earseek: :cloud9: :goodvibes

One thing that always gets the attention of the Disney VPs is money. ( or lack of it ). If people voted with their feet and Disney caved, this is a good sign.

From Disney's website:

Come to the party and meet Mickey and his pals, who host a family-style signature skillet for you! Family-style favorites include grilled steak, rotisserie meats and country-style catfish. This rotating restaurant overlooks scenes from the Living with the Land attraction and even features food grown in the Land greenhouse. The children's meals feature a fun interactive dessert. It's a Garden of delights!

Deb does not have her site updated though.

Tiger - I'm sorry I steered you wrong!! I didn't see this post until after I had replied to your post about GG. You shouldn't have a problem getting your ressie back since most don't know about this positive change yet.

Yes but Disney never changed their website to reflect the "New" changes so I believe that this is just the old page from before. I definitely could be wrong, but I think that I remember that being there like that last month or so.

Disney is notorious for not updating their website in a timely fashion. I would LOVE for this to be true, but think I'll wait to hear from someone who's actually been served the 'good food' before I make my PS. :flower:

Someone? Anyone? :confused3

Okay, just read the OP again. Starting August 21...so this is new information, not taken from Disney's site! Can you tell us where the info is from? :flower:

According to Disney Dining:

Starting Sunday, there will be a menu of fried catfish, roasted pork loin with apple chutney, and flank steak (with some sauce?), potatoes au gratin, green beans, and other veggies. salad served at dinner only.

I didn't ask about dessert or a kids menu. phooey!

edited to add: the CM that helped me was happy to see something close to the old menu returning...she was disappointed to learn that the mashed potatoes wouldn't be back, though! LOL!

also edited to add: kid's offerings are not changing. Dessert medley includes lemon tart, pecan chocolate pie (I think?), cheesecake, and a chocolate bundt cake with chocolate shavings.

be true! I'll also be anxiously waiting to hear some reports after the 21st to be sure this really happens. It would be so great if it did, and GG would immediately go back on our list of places to eat next trip. :goodvibes

ETA: Madge, I read your post after I posted. That's fantastic!
