Awareness bracelets.

Yes, I wear a two. Yellow and pink. You all know why, and it is in my signature if you don't!

I personally do not wear one but both of my sons wear a Live Strong one. They also have one my B-I-L's company made for a football team......I think it was for the Patriots. Younger DS also has one with an inspirational word on it.

No. I think they are gimmicky and I don't need to buy a bracelet to be aware of something.
Ditto.............

If they made one for Autism, I'd wear it. Other than that, none that I'd wear at this time.

DS and his friends at school are very into these. He has several, but all are to support a charity. They are not allowed to were any others to school. We just got a Support Our Troops one this week. It is a trend but I think it is good for the kids to think about each cause.

I wear yellow to remember my daughter Lex who died of Leukemia and all my friends who have died of the disease

We all have Livestrongs. Ds's best friend is a cancer survivor and gave them to us.

I don't wear them but my kids do - DS wears a Livestrong bracelet - DD wears YGB (You Gotta Believe) - to promote quality of life for brain cancer victims (bought that on Tim McGraw's website - instead of plain rubber it looks like the seam of a baseball).

My 2 DD wear the Livestrong and I wear the pink for breast cancer.

Anyone with a Red Sox Nation bracelet - can you tell me where you got it? Thanks.

Momof2 I got the kids Red Sox Nation ones on ebay and our Livestrong ones I ordered from the Livestrong foundation.

I have a red "GO CARDS" one and a lot of my friends wear the yellow ones as well.

I'm going to the Lance Armstrong site to get one! Thanks for posting it? Do they have any anklets? it might look good with my tattoo. :cool1:

i wear a Hero Band to honor my dh serving in the National Guards. Its not plastic though its made of metal.

DD (7) just bought one at the local Hallmark store. It is a red, white and blue, support our troops bracelet. Her uncle is in the Air Force and is now in Germany.

I don't wear one now, but when I was in HS (the 70's) I wore a POW bracelet. They were quite popular, it had the name of a POW from Vietnam on it, and a hole in one end if he was MIA. You weren't supposed to take it off until your POW was either found or declared dead. Unfortunately, they weren't made very well, so eventually they would crack and break. When mine showed signs of cracking, I took it off. I still have it, and when I went to the Vietnam Memorial in Washington about 4 years ago, I actually found my POW'S name. Since I have no family or friends (thank God) that fought in Vietnam, he was my only connection. (Michael Wallace) Then a travelling wall came to our town, and I took it to find him again. An armed service member helped me find his name on that one. He actually knew him...(shudder)

There are so many causes out there today, I have no interest in sporting an awareness bracelet for one particular cause. I would hope that people would be wearing one because of the cause, and not because it was a fashionable accessory..

One of the hospitals near here has asked patients to cover their Livestrong bracelets. Seems they're the same color as the DNR bracelets and the hospital doesn't want to get them confused!
