I am helping a friend plan a trip, and one of their children is scared of elevators. I am trying to help plan a trip while avoiding elevators.

I know Tower of Terror is out, they are staying at The Caribbean Beach which I don't think has elevators.

I can not for the life of me recall every time i used an elevator at Disney, so trying to get a list together of any other rides that use elevators, I cant think or any off the top of my head.

As for meals, I think Topolino's is out (or am I mistaken?), but do you need to take an elevator to get to Chef Mickeys i can not recall if you can take an escalator the whole way.

Anything else i am missing?

Escalator can be used to get to Chef Mickey's.

California Grill comes to mind. The only way up is via elevator.

Astro Orbiter in Magic Kingdom requires an elevator.

Space 220, but not in a traditional sense. If you're OK with a spoiler, search on Youtube for Space 220.

I can't remember, but do the Astro Orbiters at the Magic Kingdom require the use of an elevator?

AH yes it does! Thank you!

Great news!

I think they are skipping Epcot, and I haven't eaten here yet, but I think I will mention it if this becomes an option!

thank you!

Chef Mickey's you do not need to use the elevator.

Haunted Mansion uses a fake elevator, probably won't be an issue.

Caribbean Beach does not have elevators.

Topolino's, Toledo, California Grill will require an elevator. I believe that is it for public spaces at resorts.

The ride vehicle does go into an elevator of sorts towards the end of the attraction and does move with a feeling of dropping It may drop in reality 🤷‍♂️ Never researched how it was done.

It does indeed drop. The reality is it drops much slower than it feels and how it is shown on the screen. Fools your perception. It's like how each floor of bikes/vehicles/banshees moves in Flight of Passage. Vehicle is locked on a floor, the whole floor moves.

sorry, I have written it, but I didn’t really think that would be considered an elevator, debating if I should warn about it…
Where you drive in to the box shaped room at the end? Guess it depends exactly what part of the elevator is a no go for your friends. If it's going inside a small box, then it's going to count. If it's a motion only thing then maybe? There are lots of motion type rides though and since you don't mention avoiding motion simulation I think the process of riding in a vehicle in to the elevator type box would probably at least warrant a warning

There is a part where you go into an actual elevator and go up, where you can see the ride vehicle being lifted up about 20ish feet or so.

I am going to need to ride this again in January and see how i can explain with out really spoiling it for them

He is only 7, and got stuck in an elevator right before COVID, for about 2 hours, and no one thought anything of it, then they went on vacation and he walked 8 flights every time he went to or from the room. He has done rollercoasters, water rides etc since, but the actual elevator is a no go, so I think its more a traditionally elevator experience but who knows really.

I feel like explaining the elevator part in detail wouldn't give much away at all. It's pretty similar to those elevators that have glass walls that you can see through, except there's no wall at all. The drop part in the small space would spoil it.

Adult with elevator issues here. I didn't have an issue on ROTR, but the stretching room in HM is an issue for me if it is particularly crowded. I'm fine if there is enough space, but it is easily skipped if you get in and have a "nope" moment. I think knowing that he can skip just that section if he doesn't feel comfortable might be really helpful.

Other places I can think of are no longer there (DisneyQuest, Hydrolators at the Living Seas)

We actually got stuck in that “elevator” when the ride broke down. We sat there a long time before the lights came on. If there were announcements, we couldn’t hear them. We were walked off the ride. I took photos when we were stuck. The area was actually fairly open. It kind of reminded me of the area on MMRR where you go under the sea. You’re in a “cave-like” structure, but it’s wide open space behind you. The others with us also had the same impression.
