Avoid List!

Stich - I just didn't get it - boring.

The river boat at MK. My parents made us ride it every summer and I was always so bored. Maybe I should try it out again now that I'm not a "cool" teenager.

Don't flame me but I really don't care for Fantasmic. I think the story is so disjointed (what's the deal with the Pocohantas (sp?) part?) and while the video on the water is cool - that's what it is - watching parts of Disney movies on a screen made of water. I also HATE HATE HATE getting in and out of that stupid theater - and I'm usually a really patient person who doesn't mind crowds or waiting in line.

Sounds Dangerous - it was just cringe-worthy!
Astro-Orbiter, Mad Tea Party, Indy Speedway, etc. just don't interest me (although I may still go on them if I have time!) - these kind of things can be done at Oakwood Park and Alton Towers type places in the UK anyway.
And the stuff for really young children (although when I have kids I'm sure this will bne different!).

I'll pretty much go on everything else though and enjoy it (even the HoP! - and I'm not even American/have much interest in American history.. although I do love British/European and Ancient History, so maybe it kinda spills over?).

El Rio Di Tempo is soooo terribly dated and boring, and yet we keep going on it!!!
More for the laughs than anything. Still amazes me that this attraction is at DISNEY WORLD!! I mean, come on, it's awful!

That is so funny, I was about to say the same exact thing!!! :rotfl2:

Baby Simba:flower:

Sounds Dangerous- too boring
Hall of Presidents- too boring
Country Bears- too corny
Body Wars- makes me sick
Journey into Imagination- too much Figment
Swiss Family Treehouse- never been and don't plan to go. Doesn't look interesting to me
Primevil Whirl (hurl)- also makes me sick
Astro Orbiter- doesn't look interesting to me

Those are my opinions.. :)

Has to be El Rio del Tiempo. The dancing dolls in this ride are like psychotic grown-up dolls escaped from Small World. They just give me the creeps.

tiki room -been on it once when i was 5 abd is still terrified lol
swiss treehouse- me and my mom walked it and for nothing *yawn*
living seas-really i hate going into this but i do like the crush thing
the land-been in it once never again!
indy speedway- its such a long wait and i do like it but it gets boring after the 10th time

i think thats it lol

I would do any ride if there was no line, with the exception of M:S if inclined to motion sickness.

I did Sounds Dangerous once. I was cool and dark and I got to sit down for a bit. It is a good place to head if you are hot, tired, or need to nurse a baby. When you leave there are some fun "Movie" machines to play with.

Astro Orbiter I did once too because there was finally a short time. The ride is nothing. The cars are very tight, but the view of the MK is great. We noticed that everyone coming down on the elevator looked miserable, so we got the people on our elevator ride to all laugh, smile, and talk about how great the ride was when we got off. One of the fun things about WDW is how willing people are to play along.

Country Bears I did once. All I can say is that it might be a good place to sit during heavy rain, but it might be better just to stand out in the rain. :sad2:

I like Tom Sawyer Island. It's not the place you want to be if you are short of time, but if you have the time it's fun. I told my kids that there were scary things in the cave before we went in. It was a pretty good joke since they are big kids. I would love to have been able to play in that fort as a child.

I also really like Ellen's ride and the Timekeeper.

But why has no one has mentioned the scariest, most horrible ride of all...Land of the Demented Dolls!!!

Land of the Demented Dolls!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

 :earseek: :music: Has anyone mentioned the possibility of head lice on the ear phones at Sounds Dangerous?

Well I don't have a particular ride but a combination that I do not suggest doing (not really but it's a funny story) riding Pooh after BTMRR! I was just there and had some coffee late at night (during EMH) and roder BTMRR which totally did a number on me and then we went on Pooh...let's just say that that part where you bounce with Tigger almost made me lose it! I am such a wimp, I ride the roller coaster, yet almost get ill on Pooh! :rotfl2:

Every time we get in line, it breaks down. Maybe it needs new sponsorship. Toyota? Honda? It needs some Karma from something more dependable than GM.

ITA!!

Sounds dangerous is boring

Stitch's Great Escape- I can't stand that character.

Jungle Cruise- Very outdated

Country Bear Jamboree- I can't stand country music. Put some rock in there then we can talk.

I also avoid Splash Mountain a lot but not because it is a bad ride or anything. I am not a fan of water rides, that's all. Please don't flame me.

That is definitely on my list & I couldn't believe that noone mentioned it before you. I love your name for it. :)

soccer cruisin 87 ( I think I got that right)

I just think that on Test Track the breaking, hot part cold part is too predictable. Might be nice if they came up with a different way or order of presenting this stuff. Too many people just do it for the speed round at the end. Not to mention the frequent break downs....

In MK, if you can, avoid Dumbo! Such an amazing long line, and since there are two other rides in the park with the same concept, try them instead. Some people would say avoid the Tiki Room, but I normally don't, only because if I am waiting for a FP return time near there, and need to burn some time, it is a good option. Not that long of a show, but you are sitting down, and plus it is in the a/c. Hall of Presidents is only good if you're a real history buff, and like that kind of stuff. Indy Speedway, it is quite a long line to go five miles an hour in a track guided car. Even though I haven't been on it yet, but Lilo's Great Escape seems to be horrible, and since I have heard it is like a "cute" version of the Alien Encounter, I will pass.

I'm another one who doesn't like waiting in long lines for mediocre rides. If you must do Dumbo, go first thing in the morning (at opening) or very late at night. Indy Speedway is lame as well. I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't really like Space Mountain and haven't been on it on my last 2 trips to WDW. I'd much rather ride Rock N' Roller Coaster or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Wrong board, but the attraction in all of Orlando most to be avoided is the Barney show at Orlando. They drop little leaves, not enough to go around, then they get you wet, then they drop soap flakes on you, then you are trapped until Barney gets to your tot, then they try to sell you stuff.

My DH said, "We have died and gone to Barney h*ll" :scared1:

Well it's not supposed to be fun for YOU. ;)

Barney was the highlight of our DD4's Universal day. DD1 loved it too. I think it's a great show for the little ones.

Back on the subject of Disney attractions to avoid:
Kali River Rapids - this ride is so short and disappointing that if you have to wait more than 5 minutes, it's a waste of time.
Primeval Whirl - There was absolutely nothing enjoyable about this ride at all.
Maelstrom - boring, boring, boring.

Just thought of another one, but I don't know if it's still there, we thought the Lion King show in MK was a total waste, and the line was long for it even in Sept!

'course i thought the big Lion King show at AK wasn't that great eitherk and every one raves about that.

Hey, even Disney can't please everyone all the time. Seems like if you went as a kid and liked some of these rides, they are more fun now. I can even tolerate IASW as an adult, only because of my memories of going on it as a child with my parents. Otherwise it would send me screaming into the night.
