~~Avoid Columbus Day due to expensive airfare?

Anyone have experience with flying near Columbus Day...are the flights generally priced higher?
We are taking a cruise and going to WDW next October with my in-laws...they've never been to WDW or on a Disney Cruise. Our cruise leaves on Sun. Oct. 17. We had planned to do WDW the week before the cruise but Columbus day is that Monday before and I'm afraid of high airfare and busy parks, should I be worried?

Maybe we should bump our cruise up a week to Columbus Day...then we'd cruise on 10/10/10 and do WDW the week before...the 3rd-the 9th.
Any input's appreciated!

I don't know if we were just lucky or not but we are flying down on Columbus Day and it was only 59$ from Philly to Orlando. We did buy early.
