We have never previously rented from Avis but I found a good SUV rate for our upcoming DLR trip. Initially I went through and got the quote without any Wizard Number because we didn't belong. Once I seen Avis had a good rate, I signed up for the Wizard program and did the preferred so we could just bypass the counter. However when I went back to book the car and added the Wizard Number the price jumped up $150
I did it again to be sure I was doing it right and still it was the higher price. Proceeded try it agin without the Wizard number and got the lower rate
So I don't understand why it is higher with their "club" feature. Is the Wizard considered a discount so then I can't use another one?
Then I went through and got the quote at the lower rate and then "modified" the quote to add the Wizard number and it kept the lower rate. However I am fearful I will be told when I arrive that I can't have the lower rate and will be charged more. So I am thinking I am not going to keep the reservation.
Anyone have this happen to them or know why it happened?
Thanks for any input.
