Avis or Dollar?

Should I go with Avis for $10 less or stick with Dollar since I've rented with them before. I've not really heard anything bad about either one, but I lean towards Dollar because of past experience. I have a compact for $160 for the week (tax and everything) with Dollar. An Avis code gave me a price of $150 for a week. Also, does anyone know about getting a $25 certificate if you sign up with My Avis on their website. I thought I read about that somewhere but can't find the thread again. Thanks for any help.

I have used both Avis and Dollar. I have used Dollar more because they tend to have better prices between the 2 of them, but not for any other reason. Both Avis and Dollar are located at the airport in Orlando so that makes them equal there too. Personally, I would go with the less expensive of the two. This is of course my opinion. Did you try using any discount codes with Dollar? I don't know when your trip is, but I was checking the compact rates with Dollar with the FISH code earlier today for dates in November and early December and it was coming up at 124.99 per week plus tax.

Used Avis in May. Very good. Picked up shiny, new Grand Am. Had no trouble at counter, and return was a breeze. I signed up for My Avis, and used the $25 coupon. No trouble. I presented it at the counter. When I returned the car the following week, sure enough $25 was taken off the bill.

They are really pretty equal. I've rented twice from each company.
