As the previous poster said, the number of people is going to be a factor. I just went through this before I booked our cruise. We are sailing on the 1/21/06 Magic Eastern Cruise. I got prices ranging from $6400 to $3900 for a Category 6 room. There are 4 of us -- myself, my DH, and my two DSs (9 and 4 at time of sailing). I was surprised that there was such a wide range. Also, really surprised that the highest price came with my AAA discount!
I don't know if this is "average" or not, but we booked more than a year in advance in a CAT 9, sailing Feb 5-12th, 2005 with 2 adults and 1 child and are paying $2400...I thought it was a good deal. A friend booked for the same time for just two adults and paid $2000. A 3rd friend waited to book and the prices had gone up - she is paying $1800 for a CAT 12 (same sailing dates).
