Was wondering what others have spent on their three day cruises and what did they spend it on. Being just some 20 days away from our first cruise...having to settle a huge bill at the end of our cruise is my biggest fear...thanks. Barbara

I was never on the 3 day, only 4 and 7 day. But I can tell you that there is alot to spend on, or you can leave without a bill. Extras would be excursions, gift shop, drinks, tips, expected tips, spa, palos, CC(rentals) and arcade room. The excursions and tips can be figured out ahead of time. You could always budget your spending in the gift shop and pictures. I am not a big picture buying person, this year we bought 1 and I think a total of our 3 cruises is about 5. Remember most of the bill at the end of the cruise is for extras, so you can limit your spending, if you have the will power. You can also pay the charges everyday, or else give money on your charge so you are limited as to what you can spend. Our bill on the 4 day around $500, with no excursions, but our 1st cruise so I did vist the gift shop often. We have been averaging around $900 on the 7day with some excursions, all totals do include the expected tipping.

Our total for 2 adults on the 3 day cruise came to 754.31

This included...
Parasiling(140.00)
Tips
Souveniers, mostly for family
1 picture
Internet Cafe(only 8.00)
Drinks(soda & alcohol)
Palo

I think that was it.

On our last trip(3 day), we spent about 1000.00 2 adults and 1 child. It did include t-shirts and junk at Nassau and all the regular stuff on the ship.

I have been on a 3, 4 and 7 day cruise. You really don't have to spend a lot of extra money.

1. Plan for tips ahead of time.
2. Stay out of the stores ;) on board. Or set a strict budget ahead of time (all I bought was a photo album).
3. Take lots of your own pictures and when you see he nice ones at shutters remind yourself that you have all the pictures you will need in your camera ready to be developed at home.
4. Don't go on an excursion. When we went to Nassau the first time we went and walked around a little. The second time we stayed on the ship and we LOVED it.
5. Castaway Cay. I have to admit, our favorite thing was the bike ride ($6 per person) and we rented a float for each child (2 @ $6 each). But you really don't need a lot of extras.
6. Take your own soda with you for in the room. Don't buy 'drinks' onboard.
7. It is worth a couple dollars tip to order room service one night, so go ahead on splurge on that! The cheese tray is great! Just order ice tea instead of pop because they will charge for the pop.

Honestly, aside from tips, We spent less than $100 total on the 3 day. Now on our 7 day, we did excursions and so I won't even mention what our bill was for that one!

You really can have a great time without spending a lot of money. I was AMAZED at how little we spent on our cruise. It is really up to you. Just plan ahead for tips, and then watch the rest very carefully.
