Avengers Campus Superthread – Opening June 4, 2021!

Does anyone think these long waits to get into AC will die down in the next month or so? I’ll be there between July 23rd-30th. It seems like waiting hours to get in is such a waste of time if you can get in right away with a BG but it would be nice to get in whenever I want, especially since GOTG is a 5+ times a day ride lol

I think the AC stand by line will disappear when Disney removes park capacity, attraction capacity, social distancing, and masks become an option. This could be as early as June 15th, but my guess will be July.

We just need other local theme parks especially Universal to take the first step.

It's worth noting that while capacity restrictions may go, masks will not be on June 15th. (I believe this is a Disney decision, not a state one)

Thanks for that info. I'm still hoping Disney updates at least their outdoor mask mandate similar to the rules at WDW, but we'll do what's asked of us.

The flip side is that people will not feel compelled to stay in fear of not being able to reenter. This is especially true for the many people waiting on a mobile order. Honestly, there is very little to do in AC, aside from waiting in the horribly slow and endless WS queue and watching the character shows. It is simply just not that visually interesting of a place, as compared to GE and RS. I am sure that I am not the only one in the parks who does not go to DL to watch a short and cheesy Marvel sideshow. Many people will simply walk through, take a few photos, and move on to another area where they actually have rides.

Got BG 37 yesterday using the pull-down refresh method from the DCA BG page in the App - exactly at 7:00 from 4 phones. Got called at around 10:30. Once in line for WS, the queue took about 25 mins to get onto the actual ride.

We could not submit a mobile order at PTK, as all of the times were taken.

if you ask a CM, they will tell you the times of the next Black Widow/Black Panther show, but apparently Spider-Man show times are random, as they don’t want people waiting to see it, and truly want it to be experienced while walking by.

I was successful practicing for WS as well today. Seemed like it was a lot smoother as well, compared to the last few days

Question for those of you who were successful practicing for WS today, did you click over from the DL page or use the pull down method? For the first time I did the pull down and it spun forever before telling me all groups were full. When practicing I normally start from DL and click over and am successful so I don't know it was slower than normal. We don't leave for 10 more days so it gives me more time to practice the various methods. We'll also have 5 in our group so I'll have MIL with a clock on her phone (she wouldn't be quick enough to get a BG and it's something helpful to do) while the other 4 of us try to BGs.

I forgot to turn off WiFi, which at our hotel is slower than my TMobile, watched the time.gov countdown, had the virtual queue page open to DL, clicked to DCA, nothing, pull down refreshed, got boarding group one!!!!! What the heck?!

We were going to head into the park a little later today to try to avoid the opening line at Harbor, but guess not! I'm in the security line now!

On your visiting day the tickets in your party will be automatically selected on the Create a Party screen. You will hit one more join button on that screen. You don’t even want to check the selected tickets. Immediately click the Join button on the Create a Party screen.

I did a test run this morning. I have my tickets linked in the Disneyland app but I haven’t made my reservations for October yet. When I tried to join the queue, it wanted me to click all the people in my party. By the time I did that, the queue was full already. Will this be different once I schedule my reservations? We got to DCA late due to a late Rise of the Resistance Boarding group.

It was after 6:00. We were told at the time that the wait to get into Avengers Campus was "between one and a half and two hours."

It wound up being 40 minutes, max.

So missing any kind of massive line was a huge plus. I'm very glad we didn't try to go earlier in the day before "Rise" and then go back and forth between parks.

There's not actually much to do, of course. It's a fairly small "land." We went to WEB tech, walked around the whole place, got Pym's....lingered until 9:30 or so. It was fun and we're glad we went, but it was a little bit overwhelming.

A fair number of characters out and about.

We saw Captain America and Spider-Man, who each had small-ish lines for people waiting to take pics and talk to them.

Loki was present, along with two guards keeping him captive. He was very accessible to talk to.

Thor and Black Widow walked along the Avengers HQ, but were too far away to do more than just wave to.

Worth seeing, but not worth spending hours and hours waiting to get into.

Don't select your party! They will be automatically selected day of.

You have no choice but to select them when you’re practicing outside of having reservations. It actually helps because if you can get through that and still get to the next page, you’ll shave some time when doing it for real!

I’ve practiced 3 times now and not been successful yet LOL. The first time I got distracted and was a few seconds late and so the join button didn’t show up, the 2nd time I was caught off-guard by having to select the party, and this morning I refreshed and it took forever to load. But I mastered the ROTR BGs at WDW and we won’t be there until July 23rd, so I’m sure I can figure it out by then! Lol I think I’ll try clicking over from the DL page during the noon time today.

I’m trying to figure out exactly where I should plan on being for the 7:00 time day of. I don’t have data so I have to be on wifi. We’re taking public transportation to get to Disney and since the park will probably be opening at 8 we’ll try to be there before 7. But where will they be holding us at that time? Outside security? I know there’s a wifi hotspot in the esplanade but idk how strong it is outside security. Maybe it would be better to try the wifi at McDonald’s across the street and then head over? We do want to be one of the first people in though. We’ll be starting at DL 3 times to RD Indy and get a ROTR BG at 7 and WS at 12 and DCA 2 times to RD RSR and get a WS BG at 7 and ROTR at 12.

My dad will be with me and have data and I’ll have a few family members at home who can help out but I want to make sure all phones have a good chance!
