avatar and AK

I know I know a bugs life and Lion King are movies too. But they are disney movies. I know AK isn't just a zoo its an amusement park. I just really like the zoo and conservation part. I think that movies are not the best way to promote animal conservation. I just have to remember Disney is in business to make a profit. they must think this is a profitable move. I also have to fess up, i dislike James Cameron and I don't like Disney working with him. It spoils some of the magic for me. But thats just me, I'll get. over it.

There are quite a lot of people who don't like George Lucas, but they don't let that dislike get in the way of their enjoying Disney even though Disney works with the guy.

Others have stated the key points in my usual rant about this subject, so I'll avoid most of it.

Just remember that Pandora was a pretty well fleshed out Ecosystem that was only just barely touched upon in the first movie (there are 2 more supposedly on their way). That ecosystem provides a wonderful playground for the imagineers to work with in their creation of a very cool area within the AK park. If done right, Pandora would be no more "Hollywood" than Beastly Kingdom would've been with it's dragons and unicorns. (Both of which are still part of the park despite Beastly Kingdom's cancelation....The former in the official Animal Kingdom Logo, and the latter as a Parking lot section).

Plus another HUGE plus for existing AK fans, Even if you never step foot into the new Pandora section of the park, The fact that it is supposed to include at least 1 new E-ticket type attraction will do a LOT to give Disney some breathing room at the park as far as the ability to down things for maintenance and refurb purposes. Most notably, By having another major E-Ticket in the park to draw people in and give them a place to spend their time, Disney can FINALLY afford to take Expedition Everest down for an extended refurb to get Betty out of the Disco. Currently they cannot afford to take that attraction down for an extended period because there just isn't enough within the park to absorb the crowds or give people not interested in the animals a reason to even go there.

Word is that there are creative differences between Disney and James Cameron so the project is on hold. Maybe they can extend the Lion King Show? I for one am NOT looking forward to Avatar in AK and agree if you are going to do it HS is a better location. Yes, I get the conservation tie-in but I still don't like the idea of "fantasy" lands in AK. Why not add a "Dune" area? Or Middle Earth? Or since the original logo for AK included a dragon how about adding "Pern"? Keep the imaginary in HS and MK and leave AK to the creatures of the earth.
