Avanti Resort

Does anyone have any information about this resort? I know they have very tempting pre-grand opening rates. I was just digging for more information. www.avantiresort.com/

The rates look good, but I believe there is quite a high resort fee, I think in about the $30 range. Correct me if this is incorrect, because it does look tempting. Do you know exactly where this is located?

The resort fee is a very reasonable $5/night + tax. Includes parking, shuttle buses, internet, fitness center...

The hotel is on International Drive, about 1/2 mile from the convention center.
Rate is attractive.

This hotel was the Econo lodge Inn & Suites. The hotel went into bankruptcy shortly after it was featured on Undercover Boss. More then 2 years ago. Horrible shape. Very run down.

Rates are attractive. My concern would be having a stay before all the renovations are complete. I'd call and ask about whatever amenities are important to you. Pool. Restaurant. Fitness Center. Find out what's already done and what is expected to be done before your stay. Secondary concern would be what kind of renovations were done. Enough so it's a essentially a new hotel (gut job) or just enough so they could open. Based on the prior condition they'd have to put in new bedding, new furniture, new carpets etc. That's not the number one concern.

I did call and get that $5rate for resort fee. The pictures look really nice.

Well, I booked it for Spring Break. I'll let you know how it is! I checked out their FB page, they tore the rooms down to the walls and floors, and totally redid them. The restaurant and fitness room won't be done, but we're planning on being at WDW most of the time. And at the pool. We just want a clean, nice place to stay.

When is your spring break? We won't be there until mid April. I may book if it can be cancelled. I am not interested in the fitness centre or restaurants either, get lots of exercise walking around and restaurants are everywhere.

On my email receipt it says that cancellation 24 hours prior to arrival.

Bumping this in case anyone who was staying there this spring has anything to say about it. It's the preferred hotel for an event (with an even cheaper convention rate) but I'd like to hear from someone who's been there.

DON'T STAY THERE! I saw the title Avanti and rushed in to warn you. The place is gross. The pool is nice and that's it. Beds are a single mattress on top of a sheet metal bed frame. Make horrible loud sounds with every move and we are not a pooh sized family at all we are all under average. Pillows are like towels stuffed into pillow cases. The floors are nasty, my son walked in wet from the pool and I cleaned it up with a white towel that looked tie dyed black when I was done. I took a picture and showed the manager. We entered our room at 3pm on one afternoon to find a lady sitting on our bed using the phone, her two kids playing with my kids toys on the other bed and her bags in my room..... They gave her my room even though we were there 3 nights. I got a coupon for free breakfast and sand bucket full of snacks for the inconvenience. I would have been very mad had anything been in that room. We already have a distrust for house keeping, maintenance staff so everything was locked in our trunk. You've been warned...lol
