Why is it that it seems that there’s never any rooms available at Disney either DVC were regular rooms.

Where is I can make a reservation pretty much at any hotels at Universal for any time during the year with no problem whatsoever..

Is Disney specifically limiting the number of rooms? It is allocating to DVC members even when in fact, they have rooms available.

What are your dates? If you are looking more than 11 months out, DVC has not been released for booking yet and may still be limited until closer to the date. Regular WDW resorts should be available to book through Dec. 2024, but yes WDW's booking system has algorithms that restrict some dates to avoid "orphaned" nights. So there may be 7 nights available, but you can't book a shorter 5 night stay of those same dates. Try playing with your dates a bit. Also make sure you aren't looking for a specific promotion as those do have limited availability.

Yep they absolutely have these algorithms in place which is sooooo frustrating. Try booking a longer stay including the dates you want. If it's available, book it, then call Disney to have them take off the extra dates. It's a real pain. So many times we are looking for 1-3 night stays and can't book them even though they are available.

Half the time it's looking for a discount when I price resorts. Incognito or Privacy mode usually helps.

I've noticed a cookie issue with my browser. Often times, nothing gets returned when I search. But if I switch to a private browser window, I see plenty.

But the other replies are correct, ...

• There is a room inventory algorithm that blocks out certain combinations of rooms and dates
• DVC Members can book their "home resort" starting 11 months out; DVC member can book other DVC resorts 7 months out; and, at 60 days out, Disney can convert any unbooked rooms to "cash". Disney can get rooms before 60 days if it's a resort that is not completely sold, or as DVC members exchange their points.

What are your dates? Sometimes people think the system is screwing them but they don’t realize they’re trying to book an extremely busy time. WDW can get booked out at times other than major holidays (like early Nov when F&W Marathon meets Jersey Week meets Veterans Day).
