Availability tool is incorrect?

The resort availability tool is incorrect??

It shows availability for poly std studio from January 26-27. I am arriving January 26, but the booking tool says it's not available.

Just yesterday, I cancelled my jan 26-27 at the poly bc I'm an idiot. I went back to rebook an hour later... The booking tool says it's all gone.
Resort availability tool says it's still open.

I'm guessing the booking tool is more accurate.

On the plus side, I was able to book January 27-feb 1 just fine.

Is it possible that available rooms that go in the new automatic wait list holding file still appears on the RAT as available until a CM actually books a reservation using that available villa?

The availability tool is not a real time system - it was not meant to be. Its a planning tool.

It's always been real-time for me, with one exception: PVB. For some reason, the availability tool has always seemed out of date for PVB, ever since it opened. But it's always been accurate for everything else, at least in my experience.

I don't believe that's the way it works - it's been real time for me. But someone else recently noticed that dates that had been unavailable showed open on the RAT and they had a waitlist for it. They kept trying to book without success and contacted DVC. As it turned out their waitlist filled and when it did the availability no longer showed on the RAT.

Real time in IT means something specific. And its definately not a real time system.

In my experience, it meets the definition of "real time" with the exception of PVB. Apart of PVB, I've seen plenty of rooms open up using the RAT, and they've all been available for booking immediately; BWV, BCV, BLT standard, AKV value rooms. Only during the PVB roll-out did I find any problems with real-time availability.

Booking tool has jan 25/26 and jan 29 as not available. It's been over a day and it's not updated!!

The anecdotal piece about waitlist filling is a new thing and not my supposition but there seems to be some thoughts that the waitlist processing has changed at about the same time. My personal experience since the RAT came online is real time - or at least as real time as internet access will allow and IMO an appropriate use of the term even though perhaps not as specific as you were referencing. But I'd say that is unlikely to be possible for any internet accessed system.

I found out the hard way that the PVB availability tool isn't correct. I had six nights booked and wanted to change to just the first three and book SSR for the last three. Availability tool showed all the days (actually the whole month of February) so I canceled the six-night reservation and immediately went to rebook the first three and could only book the first two. Booked those, went back to availability tool, and it still shows the third night is available. Called MS and she said there have been problems with just the month of February for some reason and my third night is not available so I waitlisted. I should have just called and had MS make the change for me. Lesson learned!

The month looks the same as it did in Sunday. Just checked for fun.

Frankly when you are looking within your booking windows I think it would be better to bypass the availability tool and use the booking tool then you are getting live reservations data.

Availability oil is best used only when you are outside your booking windows and can't use the booking tool.
