Availability Shocker!!

I'm still holding on to the pipe dream that our waitlist for a 2BR on Easter Sunday at HHI will come through. So, I went to the member site today and, just for giggles, I put in the dates for our entire stay...March 30-April 5...which is the week of Easter. To my amazement, a TREEHOUSE VILLA at SSR was available for ALL SIX NIGHTS!

Obviously, since we are going to HHI, this does nothing for us, but I was really shocked to see this available for Easter week. I thought that the treehouses were very hard to get at 7 months, let alone 6 months out for Easter.

There have been multiple threads that after the website and system downtime earlier in the week, inventory started showing up all over the place, maybe that's why.

They raised the price for THV, Easter is an especially high point time. Two baths, two queen beds, the bunk beds, I hope they overestimated the demand, and go back to the point chart they began as. I'll book one again at the two bedroom rate, not for a premium.

you never know there is still time. so much has been happening with inventory. we cancelled Easter & rebooked for a different time so we could be home and visit family. maybe your waitlist will come through. i hope get your wish.

I agree Bobbi. As nice as the THV are, they do have many drawbacks as well. After some of the issues we had during our September stay, it will be a long time until I spend a premium amount of points for another stay there.

Good luck with your waitlist at HHI. We spent Easter at HHI 2 years ago (at that time, it was also the week of the Heritage Classic). One thing I remember, though, is that we'd made no plans for dinner on Easter, and ended up spending too much time driving around finding most places closed, and the few that were open were packed. I think we ended up at Panera Bread (?)

We're hoping to do a brunch at the Old Englsh Pub(?). I e-mailed the owner and he said to make a reservation about 6 weeks in advance. Last time we went to HHI, we stopped in Gatlinburg for 2 nights so that we'd arrive to HHI on Sunday afternoon. This time, we're bringing my parents for their first trip to HHI so we decided to do just one night in Gatlinburg so that we could arrive in HHI on Saturday afternoon/early evening. That will give us a nice, relaxing Easter morning and allow us to fully partake of any activities that the resort might be offering.

We do have a cash reservation, but it would sure save us a lot of money if that waitlist would come through.
