Is there a trick to seeing availability for either the poly bungalows or wl cabins? When I try different dates they are always not available. I figure they are hard to get, but didn't know if there was some website trick? We are a bit flexible on dates, so I'm not really looking for a specific time or month. Is calling easier?

Are you DVC? Just put in a date and then you can scroll through months of availability even if you are in 7 month you can see into 11 months and get an idea of availability. They are crazy expensive, however Sun-Thurs early in May and in September are likely the cheapest without consulting the point charts. There are often walkers at 7 months so you may need to follow them and get one night at a time (assuming you are not in borrowing mode).

Be aware the bungalows at Poly are a long walk so make sure you get a luggage cart and have all your groceries with you and either take it yourself or have bell services drag it out there. It's like running to the store for milk in a snowstorm so have your coffee creamer in the fridge when you arrive! Bring umbrellas.

Enjoy!

I'm not DVC, just looking on the wdw website to look for availabilities. Since I'm not dvc, would it just be easier to call?

DVC rooms only end up being available for cash reservations in certain situations, including:
a) DVC keeps some points; it can use them to make rooms available for cash. The newer the resort, the more points DVC still has, because the points are released to DVC members a little at a time.
b) A member uses DVC points for a purpose other than staying in a DVC room, such as going on a Disney cruise. Those points can be used to make rooms available for cash.

Some DVC rooms are seldom or never available for cash reservations.

You can call try calling 407-W-DISNEY but I don't know if you will have better luck than just looking at the website.

Since you are not a DVC member, you cannot call DVC member services and you cannot access the DVC website to see if the rooms have already been booked by DVC members.
