But does it really matter who she was winking at? It was the Vice Presidential Debate. I don't want the Vice President of the United States winking at ANYONE while they are publicly speaking. It is unprofessional.

I've said that she just rubs me the wrong way and I think part of it is that I want her to be above all this. I don't want a 'cute' VP. I don't want joe six- pack.' GWB tried that and he was a complete disaster ... and I voted for him.

I want better than the average Joe.

Well, a couple times I thought Biden was going to pick his nose and the camera quickly changed directions to only show Palin. Then in a minute or two they put Biden back on. I know he wasn't picking his nose, but the hand should go no where near the nose when on camera.

I can live with that

and I didn't really have issue with her hair.

Well, I think this entire thread is silly. I wanted it to be balanced, not fair, but balanced.

Look at congress, we have better than average joe in there and look at the mess we are in.

All I hear is "bring government back on the side of the people..." and "energy independence"... It's weird, it's like watching a Miss America contestant answering questions. You know -- just a rehashing the same theme and unabashedly trying to make it fit every question.

That's exactly what I thought!!! I have nothing against pageants and contestants going on to greater things, BUT...stop acting like you are still in the pageant!!!!

Both of them had their pluses and minuses in the looks department. Palin's hairdo and suit were great, but she wears wayyyy too much blush and her shoes looked weird (I was watching on PBS, they show lots of side angles). Biden needs to do something with his hair and red skin, but he looks dapper and has a much more pleasant speaking voice. Both of them could blind people with the whiteness of their smiles.

But as for the debate itself, expectations aside (which both exceeded), Biden came off much better in his answers and Palin still seemed too much of a lightweight.

You got that talking point from Palin. Biden talked about the things Bush did that got us to where we are now. When did Palin actually say what they would do in the future? Put the Maverick of the Senate in the White House was all she could say, not what that Maverick would do. She never once said anything specific about what they would do in the future.

She may have sounded okay but she really didn't say anything. She didn't answer the questions. The scary thing is she wants more power than Chaney. This woman is power hungry but she has not really shown us what she would do with that power. Unless, like she did in Alaska, she plans to abuse it by firing people for no other reason than they don't agree with her. She is Bush in a skirt and we sure don't need 4 more years of that.

The comment about wanting more power still bothers me. I hope that someone can pin her down on what exactly she meant by that - that is, if anyone is ever allowed to talk to her.
