Auuugh, Sarah!

Does it drive anyone else crazy when she gets cutesy/folksy? Makes me cringe.

It drove me crazy too, but I can understand why some people will like it and therefore will like her. For me though, I would rather see someone more business-like, and sometimes Palin did pull that off. That's simply what I prefer. I found it unfortunate that she felt she needed to go back to folksy again.

I hope some one tells Sarah Palin to brush her bangs away form her eye! Its annoying me. As she's blinking, part of her bangs move too. Vanity vent over.

How did that happen? Fifteen minutes in, it was miracleously fixed......

Joe Biden was fantastic tonight!!!!!.....I know I am partisan, but the answer about being a single parent was genuine and heartbreaking!!!

I completely agree. He was eloquent, to the point, smart, and got his message across. He actually answered the quesitons.

I know some think SP's quirkiness is cute and refreshing but she comes across as not that smart and in way over her head.

We have had 8 years of the folksy guy you wanna have a beer with.

I want more, I demand more. If she accompanied the cutsy thing with answering the questions posed to her, it might be a little different.

And that winking thing was icky. I could handle the blinking, but the winking....very wierd.

Me too. Even my most conservative friend was making fun of her by the end. And trust me, she is voting for McCain/Palin.

I find her terribly unlikable. Which is a shame because I like McCain. But Palin just turns me off completely. I'm really surprised that people find her 'real' because she is nothing like the people I know. The 'aw shucks' attitude drives me batty.

I read that on another thread. I have no answers for it. We see her in 2 totally different ways. That is what makes the world go round. :)

OMG! Thank you! The back of Joe Biden's hair drives me nuts! :rotfl: It is of
no consequence at all I know, but it just buuuuuuuuuugs me. It is too long and does looked curled. Weird.

I was surprised Sarah Palin wore black.

Joe Biden just has the kind of hair that lays like that. It is like little fish hook ends all over the back of his head. Nothing you can do about. It is what it is. It is very frustrating to cute a man's hair that lays like that.

She was scared out of her mind is why she was blinking, winking and fidgety.

Oh really? Well, if she was that nervous, I am glad that it only came out in blinking, winking and fidgeting and not blunders. :)

I agree, Joe did have a few of those moments.

Especially when Palin kept using his own words from the past when he was hyper critical of BO's lack of judgement and experience.

Ok, Those were great palin moments. Every Senator has those bad choices that could be brought up and I am glad she pointed them out. A long history in Washington does not automatically mean it is a good long history.

How did that happen? Fifteen minutes in, it was miracleously fixed......

Easy fixed. She pushed them out of her eye. I wear my side bang long and it happens to me everyday. In a second, it is fixed. :)

They both looked good as far as that goes. These are two attractive people.

As for performance, Biden seemed to do fine. He comes across as experienced and knowledgeable. Palin did better than I expected but she comes across as she is, not too knowledgeable about many of these things. To me she also sounded quite patronizing a few times but then Biden did smile at odd times.

I call it a draw except that I prefer Biden's message. Frankly, I like him the best of the four.

Biden connected with me and I'm a Republican. I though he spoke well about his accomplishments as Senator and his record. Her, not so much. As long as she could talk about Alaska, her family, or how John McCain is a "maverick" she was okay. However, she never actually answered how their ticket was different than Bush/Cheney, or how their policies differed. She wasn't able to clarify why, even though McCain has voted for Bush's policies most of the time, he is a maverick. If the McCain team put her up there to be folksy and "middle american" I think she accomplished that. I wanted to hear more about how he is different than Bush. I didn't hear that.

Well he talked about the past...she talked about the future...she said that there were mistakes made all the way around and that is true. She did say a few times that her and McCain will not make the same mistakes that the last did...

Bidens was like watching old politics...and I like Biden....she was not.

So IMO...McCain and Biden old politics and knowledgeable

Obama and Palin...new politics(so they say) and lack of experience most learned from reading or being scripted.

However Palin is not running to be POTUS....Obama is ......so his lack of experience means more to me that Palins lack of experience.

so Does Obama need Biden...you betcha...Does McCain need Palin ..you betcha but not for experience.

I told my husband I felt like I was looking at our teenaged nephew who always has his hair in his eyes. She did well though, inspite of the distraction of her too long bangs.

I'd like to know how someone from Alaska with a distinct northern nasal twang can think they can possibly carry a southern accent. :confused3 If she'd have said "Joe Six Pack" in that shrill voice one more time, I'd have turned the debate off.

I also wish she'd have answered more questions instead of saying, "I'd rather talk about energy".

Color me non-impressed and in the ranks of people who can't stand her voice. I see why they've been keeping her cloistered.

Not a Palin fan AT ALL, but she does get points for standing in those high heels the whole time!

Yes... its getting old. I don't need a VP winking at me when she's being cutesy.
I don't think she is winking at you (the public). Palin is winking at someone in her family.

The way Palin talk doesn't annoy me, but that is because I'm around a ton of people who talk that way.

He has had hair plugs. I think he had a bleph too.

I had to google bleph, I didn't know what it was. Anyway, I think he had some sort of forehead lift due to the strange skin markings on both sides of his forehead. Or it could be all the botox he had done.

It's possible that he has naturally curly/wavy hair--I don't know? I know DH's hair does the same thing when it gets too long, which is why he always has it cut very short. I hate that--I want wavy hair. :rotfl:

Back of his hair in not really wavy, it is just curled under all the way across the back. He needs to cut it!

But does it really matter who she was winking at? It was the Vice Presidential Debate. I don't want the Vice President of the United States winking at ANYONE while they are publicly speaking. It is unprofessional.

I've said that she just rubs me the wrong way and I think part of it is that I want her to be above all this. I don't want a 'cute' VP. I don't want joe six- pack.' GWB tried that and he was a complete disaster ... and I voted for him.

I want better than the average Joe.

Ditto! Great debate! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I can't stand hair in my eyes and her bangs bothered me too, but thankfully they were fixed after first 1/2 hr.

Personally I think we're looking at the next VP, so we'd better get used to her style, and most of all, doing her best to reach mainstream foke. ;)

This is a non-issue but I have to say that her bangs were not too long. Once brush aside they looked fine. Shorter bangs would make her look silly. And if she was sitting in my chair and asked for shorter bangs, I'd find a way to tell her that in a kind way. You just cannot cut bangs too short on a grown woman w/certain hairstyles.

Palin did not talk with a southern accent. I have a southern accent and so do the people I talk to every day.
