Do you do anything special with them?

When my DS was in preschool, I used to press them and tape them to our front windows....they looked beautiful.

I haven't done that in a few years. I'm thinking about reviving the tradition but this time making a fall wreath with the dried leaves.

I know. I'm nuts. I admit it......

Anyone else like to bring autumn inside?????

Beats me, Amid. I just saw one recently, though, and I thought it was quite nice.

Hehehehehe.....I'll be up to my neck in leaf crumbs, guranteed, before it's all over.....;)

I'm not sure Gina, but try pressing the leaves between waxed paper? Maybe that will keep them from being so fragile?
Maybe that's what you do already, but thought I'd send the info anyway.:D

Gina want to make a wreath with leaves here's how you do it. First you have to preserve the leaves in a glycerine mixture. This mixture keep the color, and makes the leaves soft and easy to work with.

Glycerine Mixture

Vegetable glycerine ( available at pharmacies)
water
a container
leaves

Mix 1 part glycerine with 2 parts hot tap water. Place the mixture in a flat pan. Totally submerging the leaves single layer. Weight them down. 3-5 days later remove. Air dry on a paper towel. The glycerine mixture can be reused. You will have beautiful fall leaves that you can now make a wreath with. The leaves do not crumple they are soft and manageable.

Thank you, Mamu!

Another mystery solved!

Let's see if I can make this work this fall!

:)

Gina - You have a thing about wreaths, don't ya? :D
