autowins

There seems to be some confusion, perhaps with our younger players as to what exactly "autowin" is.

I thought maybe an explaination might help keep tensions down because I know there have been some hurt feelings recently over it.

autowin means automatic win.

An autowin of 1k means the FIRST offer of 1k wins the auction and its over.

Don't feel you have to put an autowin in there. If you don't have a real automatic win in mind, just dont put it.

Your reputation is damaged each time something like that happens, and you may find there is nobody willing to trade with you if people see you are not honoring your word.

Yay, Aengus! I have been seeing quite a few trade threads lately with autowins that haven't been honored because the trader is waiting to see if he/she gets a better offer. I won't trade with those people. Period. Dishonesty in the pre-trade dealings only makes me very wary of the actual trade later. It's about time this is stopped.

I have had the opposite.
I got slammed in my own trade thread by someone who said "it isn't worth" my autowin. Like aengus said, an autowin is just that, if someone bids that high, poof, they win, it is not like a "reserve" on ebay. It is a MAX bid if you will.

I obviously cant read every trade thread, but feel free to report it when there are comments in your trade threads. We will edit them right out or delete if there wasnt an offer at all.
