AutoSlash.com: Car Rental Price Search Engine

OK, I'm giving it a go. I currently have a separate Alamo reservation for Labor Day weekend in New Hampshire. The only AutoSlash option was Hertz, so I'm doubtful it will beat my other reservation. But it's a holiday weekend, so who knows?

I do like the idea behind this website; just hoping more rental companies come onboard.

Any updates for anyones trip yet?

None for me for the past month. Still keeping my fingers crossed

I signed up with AutoSlash today with a rate at Advantage for 11 days (Oct. 20th-Oct. 31st) for $301 for an Intermediate car. I already had a rate at Enterprise for the same time period & same type car for $278, but wanted to see if they could save me any money over the next couple of months. I got an e-mail back a few hours later with a new rate of $276 at Advantage. So far it has saved me $2, but that is in the first day so I am hopeful that as the rates fluctuate as I get closer to my date, that they will save me more. What the heck...it doesn't cost me anything and it beats checking the rates myself a few times a day. :thumbsup2

Since Autoslash does not offer National or Alamo (the 2 companies available on-site), what's the most convenient company among those they offer to do a mid-stay rental near WDW? We kind of wanted to use the Magical Express to get to and from WDW, but it seems like if we wanted to try out Autoslash we more or less have to pick up at the airport, or pick a company at a nearby hotel (and then we have to tack on the cost to get there and back).

I'm giving it a try too. our dates are nov 2nd-11th and I had a full size car reserved thru carrentalsavers.com at enterprise for $284. when I originally checked autoslash they gave me a rate of $326 at advantage but I booked it to see what would happen. An hour later I got an email that I was rebooked at advantage for $217--saved $109 already and its $67 cheaper than my enterprise reservation!!! I wasn't exactly thrilled with enterprise anyway but I know nothing about advantage. from what i've read, service is better now that they are in terminal but i would love to hear from anyone who has used them recently. thanks!!:)

I booked a compact Dec. 17 - 21 from Sanford (cars are always higher here). First price was $177.53 new price is $161.85 a savings of 15.68. Hoping for lower!

So my initial reservation with AutoSlash (quoted above) found a cheaper price through Hertz. I had to change the times when my flights changed and they found me an even better deal through Dollar. I have a backup reservation through Alamo in case anything happens but so far it's been pretty easy. I'll try to report back after my trip next week.

So, does anyone know if they keep checking after they find a cheaper discount the 1st time? Like will they keep looking & readjust from now until our reservation date?

I booked thru them after seeing this thread earlier today. Booked with Dollar for $833. Within a few hours, I'd gotten an email that my rrental had been rebooked at a rate of $436 with Dollar. Hoping for even better. I have a backup thru Budget though for $360.

Hi, Jonathan from AutoSlash.com here. Yes, we do continue to look for lower rate right up to your rental pickup date. If we find further savings, we'll definitely be in touch.

Thanks for giving us a shot!

I just tried it for a trip November 8th through the 13th. I will let you all know how it works out.

Got another price update. Dec. 17 - 21 landing in Sanford.
First quote - $177.53
Second - $161.85
Third - $154.79

So I promised to report back about my AutoSlash experience after our Labor Day trip to New Hampshire.

1. It was easy to fill out the form on the website. I got an initial rate the same day I booked and both times (had to rebook when flight times changed) got an improved rate, once through Hertz, once through Dollar.

2. The biggest downside was that AutoSlash doesn't have all of the car rental companies. I had a separate reservation through Alamo with an Entertainment Book code that dropped about 10 days before my trip, beating the AutoSlash price. I ended up paying about $10 less for a 3-day compact rental using my own resources, which admittedly took more time and extra checking. If I didn't have access to other discounts or time to spend checking rates, this would be even more valuable. And since there was no pre-payment, I didn't lose out on a better rate when prices dropped like I suspected they would.

I would find out which car companies they have available in your chosen rental area, then if there are others you are interested in you will have to double-book. AutoSlash was way easier to use than the big travel sites, which seem to just give you rack rates for car rentals. Also better that Priceline with not having to commit upfront. For example, I rarely rent through Hertz because of price, but AutoSlash turned up a good discount I wouldn't have known about.

I look forward to seeing this type of site expand to encompass all of the major car companies. That would be great!

I initially booked a full size car on November 11th-20th through Thrifty using AutoSlash for $333. The price has come WAY down on four or five occasions. It is now at $193, which is an amazing price for a rental of this length. However, I have book a much better rate on carentalsavers with Alamo for $115 for the same rental period and a full size. I have no intention of canceling my autoslash reservation until departure day, or the day before to see what they can do.

I have also told my less diligent friends know about the site, as I am sure not everyone likes checking for car rental rates everyday!

DITTO THIS QUESTION!!
we are spending a week at WDW before needing a rental car to go visit family for Thanksgiving... plan is to pick up at CCC on Thanksgiving morning and return to PBI airport on Friday 11/25... what options for car rental p/u on WDW property does AutoSlash offer? Do any provide transport from Disney resort to rental car location?

I also tried Autoslash, and even though I have rec'd several updates with lower prices for my dates, I still got a cheaper Rate booking direct with Alamo by using codes shared by these boards. My current rate is $54, but Autoslash is offering $117. Maybe Autoslash will come back with a lower rate? If you are the type of person that doesn't like to keep checking rates, then Autoslash could work for you, but since I like to do it, I seem to come out ahead. Good luck to all.

I am down to 2 weeks before departure and I haven't had any movement for months. I just cancelled by Autoslash request.
