Autopia car derailed June 4, 2025

I have no idea how this could be accomplished. An intentional plan? Not sure how you would do it but thanks to this person, that's probably the end of Autopia.

If only this could be the end of this smelly worthless attraction...either put in the electric cars or use this valuable real estate for something else. I have never understood the appeal of this attraction....even my son didnt care for it when he was young. He'd much rather ride a coaster!

You know, I get that it might have been a big deal in the beginning but we're soon to be 70 years past the time...they are not even vintage cars so there's nothing nostalgic about it...just NOISE NOISE NOISE and pollution to breathe!

My daughter (8) loves this ride, this past Dec she finally got to drive alone, she loved it...even when she was little she liked it

THIS IS A CORE MEMEORY(and they’re all blue… That’s a little Inside Out humor🤣) is the intense smell that comes from this ride. I can remember as a kid it being overwhelming and as an adult, I have to hype myself up. To the point that I will actually avoid it. I tried to tell myself it’s because I have asthma, but it’s not….I just can’t. I don’t even enjoy it and and I would sit on the old school OG submarine doing back to back rides full of screaming kids before doing a walk on to Autopia.

I understand the appeal and I understand it’s a classic. But still — It’s a no for me dawg.

I feel the same way. It was a popular amusement park attraction at the time it opened in DL, but DL is one of the few that still operates it. That said, I’ve read that a large % of people who grew up in SoCal love the ride as it was their first time behind the wheel of a car.

I’m sure before Disney’s 100tn it’ll be gone… one day they’ll demolish CoP building, Autopia, Submarine Voyage and what’s left of Watertopia and replace it with something decent.

Yeah, I say keep it, but it really needs to go electric.
