Automatic MDE Resort Change

I also have a trip planned for mid-November, it is for ASMusic and I was told that that is not on the list of resorts to be open by mid-November. So I went online to see if I could change it by myself and I did, to the Pop, which is what I wanted in the first place. So all is good!

Did you have to pay the difference?

Yes but to switch from ASMusic preferred room to Pop standard was only about $100 difference (whole trip, not per day), which was fine with me.
That's great. It helps if you booked through Disney directly. A lot of the remaining people with unchanged resorts are those of us who booked through a third party. A change will show up first automatically in MDE, some time between now and check in. Nothing for me yet!

So a Wholesale CM called me today to follow up about an email I sent expressing my disappointment over the way our reservations are being treated. She was very sweet and understood my concerns about placement bc my son is in a wheelchair.
One of the things she mentioned was that UT had NOT confirmed I was keeping my reservation, despite UT telling me they had. 😡
She was going to call them ASAP to get them to correct it. She also said that they have not yet received direction from department heads as to the matrix for moves that far out. They have been working in rolling 2 week windows with the soonest arrivals first. (Which totally makes sense.) But, considering the uniqueness of my situation, she was going to try to get special approval to go ahead and get my reservation moved as soon as she gets the confirmation from UT.

So, no change yet, but at least some answers and hopefully a resolution soon.

We are kind of in the same boat, except Hotels.com, not Undercover Tourist. May I ask what email address you used? Also, how far out is your reservation? We're October, so I'm trying to be patient! TIA

I called today to see about changing my FQ reservation. The cast member said it wasn't showing as being open at Thanksgiving time, POR is not open either, and the boat to Disney Springs is not operational, so I had them change to Caribbean. Disney honored the difference in price. Now it may all change as it gets closer.

Anyone book original reservation through hotels.com for a hotel that will not be open (i.e. Port Orleans Riverside)? Did Disney help you in assigning a different hotel with no additional cost?
Yes! I originally booked ASMovies through an online booking website (like Orbitz/Expedia/Hotels dot com) for next week and I was automatically relocated to Saratoga Springs. I found out when I opened MDE and saw the change. Once I saw the change, I completed my online check-in and selected Magicbands asap and received a text that my info had been shared with Saratoga Springs. I'm so grateful and excited. I still can't believe it!
