This will be our 3rd trip to the World. Our dds' are 11.They still want to get auto's of the characters they haven't been able to get in past trips.I'm thinking that they may be frowned upon for as old as they are.Your thoughts??

I totally agree - you are on your vacation! If they want to at 18, I would be thrilled!

My kids never did autographs (I'm glad, as I'm too impatient to wait in lines for them), but I think if you are at Disneyworld, you should be like Peter Pan and not grow up! Where else can you see adults wearing silly hats with ears, eat huge turkey legs, and ride Dumbo?

You are never too old for anything at WDW :)(well, except for dressing up because I think there's an actual age limit). Encourage them to get those autographs along with pictures, they'll really enjoy looking at them when they return home!

My DD11 got autographs on our last trip in August and no one thought anything of it. She was never given the impression that she was too old by anyone standing in line with us! Have fun...if your girls want to do it, enjoy! Have a great trip!

I went on my honeymoon and waited in line to get my photo and DH with various characters and got MY autograph book signed! I was 29 at the time. I guess I'll be elderly when I do it next yr....however I do have 2 kids now and could say it's for them :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

All three of my kids (ages 5, 10, & 17) LOVED getting autographs from the characters. My 17 year old daughter filled up two autograph books when we were at Disney this past October. Even my 23 year old nephew just had to get Tink's autograph (as he flirted with her). They had a lot of fun meeting the characters for autographs/pictures.

I have to admit, we ALL acted like kids at Disney. Our entire family dressed up for the Halloween Party, wore our "Mickey ears" around (even in the airport on the way home!), and posed with all the characters for pictures. I don't think you can ever be too old at Disney!

Even when it's just my husband and myself, we always get autograph books and try to fill them up. My husband even gets super excited if he sees someone who has never signed an autograph for us in the past. I thought he was about to faint when he saw Darkwing Duck once. :lmao: I agree with the other posters, you are never too old.

Thank you all for responding!!! I was hoping that the consensus would be that it's ok!!

This may be somewhat off topic, but my 4 yr old is REALLY looking forward to getting autographs from all of the characters. I saw a previous poster comment about the long lines, and I'm wondering how difficult it is to get autographs (this is our 1st trip)? Maybe I should prepare my DS now that it may not be as easy as he thinks?

Thanks!

My DD was 11 1/2 on our last trip and she got just as many autographs as her 6 year old brother. On our next trip (a surprise in Feb) I am pretty sure she will still want to get autographs and she will be 13 1/2 on that trip.

It's super easy to get autographs, just be on the lookout for characters!

I'm 19, I love autographs. Honestly, I think it's more fun when you are older because you can "interact" with the characters more. I love dancing with Chip, Dale and Tigger and I cried when I saw Donald Duck for the first time on our trip in May (I was suppose to go for my high school graduation and had to have surgery so we had to prospone the trip).

Have fun!

It is really easy. It's basically impossible to NOT see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip & Dale, etc throughout the day in different locations.

I'm 15 and I love getting autographs:goodvibes.

Nah!! Disney is where everyone can be a kid. It's somewhere Walt created so Adults and Children could play together. In that spirit, you're never too old. Last trip, our 15 year old was right up there with our 12 and 9 year olds getting his autographs. and I suspect he'll want to do it again next year when he's 17! :)

the older the better! im 25 and had a blast getting autographs and photos with my mum. i think the characters, especially the people ones, enjoyed the conversations with us and played along. the stepsisters wanted to know if i had a prince and we told alice about the rabbit in our backyard and she lit up. encourage your child to chat with them and the results will be amazing! my trip would have not been the same if i had not done autographs and photos.

That's part of the beauty of Disney...we're all children when we're there! They should get their autographs and have a great time. Before you know it, they'll be too cool for such things!
