Has anyone ever tried or considered the following for autograph ideas and if so how did they work out?

Idea #1
autographable mats for pictures, you buy the whole frame with an oversized mat, have the charactors sign it & then add a picture. I thought this might make a nice way to keep all the signatures

Idea #2

MAke your own plate kits - have the charactors sign the plate then send it in to be made into a plate. They will even scan in a picture for you.

What do you think?

We always do the autograph books with pictures beside them and someone said they now sell them like that so we are very excited about that!! Your idea sounds great though, we might have to do that.

We have done autograph books to death on previous trips to WDW(1996, 1998, 2000 (81/2 months pregnant) 2002 and 2004) and they always end up packed away. Thats why I was thinking a picture frame or plate. I can always use another plate. But I can't be the first person to think of them so I figured there might be a reason they don't work out

I took my own pictures of the characters early in the cruise, printed them at Shutters, and then dropped them off at guest services for autographs.

I do a hand made autograph/scrapbook for every WDW. I'll be making one for our cruise as well. On the right side is a space for the autograph, and I'll usually decorate it for each character. On the left side is a space for the picture of the kids and the character. I'm a scrapbooker, so I get a lot of enjoyment from creating the book! But I like the photo mat idea. I never thought of that! :flower:

It sounds like a wonderful idea but I know myself and as much as I wish I would, I will never get around to scraobooking each vacation individually. I do books by year and by child. So there just isn't enough room for all the charactor signatures we collect. Last trip to WDW we had over 50 different charactor signatures. DH and DD spent more than two hours hunting down Jafar one day and Mulan really got her excited. I think Dh would jump overboard if we had to get pictures with all of the charactors too. I was planning to drop it off with guest services and surprise her at the end of the trip or later if I do the plate

I'm going to bring pillowcases. Got that idea here on the boards. That sounds like a fun memory :goodvibes

We did pillowcases for our first cruise in January, but a little differently. I left a large space in the middle and did a colage of pictures (at Castaway Cay, towel animals, picture of the ship, the lighthouse at CC, etc) of each of my kids from the trip. I ironed it on and added "Mackenzie's 1st Cruise 2005", etc. at the top. They look awsome!

We did the photo mat (got the idea months ago from someone on this board). Make sure you tell guest services when you drop it off what orientation you want (horizontal or vertical).
