Autograph books - not just for characters.

I just thought of an idea :tilt:

What if my teen & tween asked CM's in the different world contries to write "Hello ...name...." on a page ?

They always get a few Mickey & Minnie signatures - even got Flick one year.
But how about something different than a character.

Since they are getting older, but still want autograpgh books, I thought of World Showcase signatures.

Anyone else done this ?

Thanks :cool1:

They have a Passport book that you can buy. It has some info on each country and a spot for your passport to be "stamped". The CM from that country writes "welcome" (I think) in their language.

My kids 7 and 11 loved getting it stamped from all of the countries.

We used the autograph books one year and it was so much better than the passport. The CM's would still put the country stamp in, but then would write a long message, usually in their language, then they would translate it too. They were so attentive to my child (who was older compared to most the kids there), it just seemed like they enjoyed the conversation with her more than the craft with the kiddles. They spent more time with her than the kids that just wanted the passport stamped. Maybe because she was more interested in them, their country and them writing a message than collecting a stamp or craft item. We took pictures with each of them too, you could add that to book after next to their message. The guy in France really made her  . It was a great experience for my tween.

I just remembered one year a mariachi musician at Mexico really personally entertained my son (still have the video 16 years later), I would have loved to have gotten his signature.
Maybe next trip we will collect special CMs instead of characters

We had our waiter at 50's PrimeTime Cafe to sign my wife's autograph book. So Uncle Dale is proudly displayed with Mickey, Minnie, and the rest.

We decided to do this last year and it was great! My DD12 has been taking German for 2 yrs now and could not wait to get to Germany to converse with the CM's there. The CM's were more than happy to write in her Autograph book in German (no English translation needed, at least for her LOL). This Jan trip she will do the same thing - but now has a another year of German under her belt LOL!! The other Countries were awesome as well with the auto books - we just made sure to find one that wasn't really busy LOL
Have fun!!

OT here, sorry, but Melissa I can relate! My son 14 has also been taking German in school, is in his second year now, and that is what he was probably most excited about - speaking German with the CM's in Epcot. He had a great time, they were very nice to him and complimented him on his fluency. It was really great for him. :)
