Autograph book vs pillowcase

We're trying the pillowcases this year, too. Our kids are 3 & 6 (first trip for our 3 yr old) and I think they'll enjoy using their autographed pillow cases way more than a book on a shelf. My plan is to use a clip board to have the characters sign on. I hope it works out and if not well, lesson learned!:goodvibes

What about those rings that are used for embroidering or stitching?? They kind of stretch a section for easy writing??

We did a pillowcase last year. It turned out great but was such a pain!!

This year I made her a little photo book on Shutterfly. I used the pics from previous years visits. So where Aurora signs this year has pics from Maddy with her the last 3 years. It turned out really cute!! I can't wait to use it!!

For our last trip, I made a book similar to this on Shutterfly. The characters loved having their own page and seeing their own pictures. We had a lot of great interactions with them. Have fun with yours!

We've done books, pillowcases, and hats. The pillowcases looked sweet when done. We continue to stick with hats as our girls love to wear them when we get home and we get so many comments. Have a great trip.

Did you just buy a disney hat when you got there? If so did you go with a colored hat or white hat? Can you post a picture of how your kids hats turned out?

We bought light pink and purple Disney hats from walmart the first year. I believe they were around four dollars and had princess and tinkerbell ironed on them. The next year we bought pink, light blue and purple from Michael's and I ironed on a Disney character. I will try to post pictures this evening when I get home from work. We used sharpies, in different colors(I took a different color marker with us each day)We had so much fun watching chip, dale, and a few other characters fight over where they wanted to sign. As our girls get older they are so easy, as in the florida sun they love to stick a ponytail through the back and keep the sun from their eyes. We had to pry the hat off our 3 year old when we got back to our room, as it was her most treasured prize. Go figure, the cheapest thing she got, she loved the most.

Just wanted to add, white would be great, as the colors would just pop!!

Just throwing something else out there...

We did the index cards that come in a spiral. The cards are perforated, so when we got home, I could remove the cards and put them in a scrapbook with the picture of the kid and the character. Still sits on a shelf, but pictures get looked at more.

If you do digital scrapbooking, you could make the album the screen saver on your computer or something like that.

We did the pillowcases last trip. Had a friend of mine embroider my kid's name on each one (mostly to eliminate fighting over whose was whose). Went to Michael's and bought some fabric markers and 2 embroidary circles. Put the pillowcases in the circle so that it was easier for the characters to sign, and I could have the spot I wanted them to sign all ready. My kid's sleep on them almost every night!

Thank you! I'm feeling better about my pillowcases. I think they'll get lots of use!

Silly question, but if I printed my own thing for characters to sign, would I get into trouble (or be frowned upon) if I use the official Disney logo...? For example, DD and DS' s names with Walt Disney World logo and 2014.

We did the autograph books and plan on doing them again! My daughter loves looking at pictures so We are making (we just started a few months ago even though we went a year ago, lack of time to finish projects at home) a scrapbook with pictures from Disney world along with the autographs. We're going back in March and plan on doing it again! She has had a lot of fun making the pages, in fact I think I need to pull our materials back out so we can work on it tonight.

You are allowed to use any of their pictures as long as they are for personal use and not resale.

Thanks. I've read so many conflicting ideas online, from people receiving positive comments from CMs to someone knowing someone who was thrown out/refused entry.

I was just thinking of printing a small design on the bottom of small pieces of card for characters to sign.

I refuse to do autograph books since the 2 I have are buried in the closet.

I love the pillow case idea. Not sure if it was mentioned but I read somewhere that someone used the needlework hoops to hold the pillowcase.

I have done a photo frame but just for a character meal and the kids wear hats so the characters signed their hats. Which basically means I just need to carry the sharpie!

We've done the autograph book the last two times we've been. We always make sure to get the one where you can put a photo next to the autograph. DD loves to look at them. This time though we are going for her birthday so I was thinking about doing the pillowcase. It would be something different since we just went in March.

For the ones who did the pillowcases about how many signatures did you get? DD LOVES the characters and this past trip we filled up two books so it was about 35 autographs.

Is there a way to make sure the characters only sign on one side of the book (without making a point of saying it )? I'm torn between the photo-autograph book for DD and DS, and getting the characters to sign personalised white postcards that can be framed with photos (but I don't know what to carry them in and worry there'll be nothing to lean on). So I thought about maybe taking the pages out of an ordinary Disney augograph book and framing those.

LOL if only kids knew how much planning we put into their holidays!!

My .02 may be a little late but we use books for he Parks, but pillow case works great if you ever do a Disney Cruise, drop it off and later it's in your state room signed by all characters. Obviously white cases work best and I have them in my boys rooms on the wall.
