We just got back from a quick getaway to WDW and came up with some neat ideas for my daughter's autograph book. Her old one was getting quite full from several previous visits and had a lot of duplicate signatures. We discovered that often the characters will look through the book checking the other signatures. Sometimes they would be confused if they saw their signature was already included.
To solve this problem, when we started the new book we included the place and date on each page. I bought some different colored pens and after the character would sign, I would write in a different color at the top where we met that character (Chef Mickey's, Toontown Fair, etc.). Then at the bottom of the page I put the date. This really helped when we saw Chip and Dale at Hollywood and Vine one day and then saw them again the next day at Chef Mickey's. The playful chipmunks readily "remembered" that they had "met" my daughter the day before and when she launched into a big discussion about things that had happened yesterday, they happily played along.
Her autograph book is very nice and colorful now and when she goes back to look at the signatures she can remember where and when she met the characters.
