I don't recall the details. AutoSlash debuted several years ago as a way to get deeply discounted car rentals.
And, it was not bad. sometimes they did good, sometimes, not so good. But for some reason, the big companies decided to end their participation and Autoslash sort of faded into the background.
Well, apparently, it is struggling to come back. I have just been using it for a trip that has given nothing but headaches at the end of March. Alamo's Vegas code is a no go for those dates. My usual extremely fantastic National Car rental code is stalled, etc.
Well, Auto Slash just came in with about a 20 percent savings. I would not rely only on it, but I would add it to any checking you do...the best rates come if you have them e-mail you a quote -- takes about 15 or so minutes until they get it to you.
So far, for my end of March trip, AutoSlash is giving the best rates. For a trip to Puerto Rico in April, the rates are $100 more than I am getting directly from Avis, however, so again, don't rely only on them.
