JESW, your son sounds like a carbon copy of mine. He too likes to throw himself on the ground; butt in the air, and scream. Many Aspies kids have one thing they focus in on. That becomes their world. My sons thing is games. Everything is an imaginary game. If we walk to the creek to fish he's "walking to the castle to fight a dragon". We have 6 game systems and hundreds of games. I get them at yard sales for a few bucks each and in huge bulk lots. I keep what I want and sell the rest on Ebay for a profit.
He pitched his biggest fit this year because he didnt get to play the goofy tag in innovations west till 1:00PM instead of at 8:00 am when they opened.
To the poster who wanted symptoms:
Crying for any tiny reason
Carrys around sticks all the time
Remembers things that happened 3 years ago like it was yesterday
Craves sugar packs (he always eats sugar packs at restaurants)
His skin does this really odd thing where it shows any small amount of pressure. I had to hold him down one day when he was hitting a wall sized mirror with his fist, and it left the stitch marks from his shirt seams in bright red. The therapist demanded a doctors note to eliminate abuse. The doctor saw it and called a particular condition (which I forgot) and said it was perfectly normal.
Screams, hits, kicks, headbutts, but NEVER bites.
Hits himself
wants to keep EVERYTHING and goes ballistic if we throw away things he wants to keep (candy wrappers, sticks, empty bottles, etc)
Extremely high IQ (tested at a 7 year iq at age 3) at age 3 was saying sentences like "May I please have the butter, or perhaps I should say margarine"
extremely amazing memory. Forgets NOTHING except for his fits he cant seem to remember.
Makes loud noises and shakes his hands a lot.
jumps around like a monkey several times daily
cant handle dyes..ironically... chocolate seems to help immensely
low muscletone, very hyper, but cant do the whole park. we rented a wheel chair one day and that was the best day of the whole week.
Lags and drags behind but still has energy for his weird shaking and jumping and noises.
NEVER EVER takes daytime naps, and never has EVER.
will not go to sleep without his mom in the bed
his skin is often cold and clammy
sweats a lot
Thats pretty much it.
CarolA Get over it. Why are you buggin??? This post isnt about cooking!!! Have you read the other posts??? So you think my kid is a spoiled rotten brat. Your entitled to your opinion. I think you are. There are many people here on this thread who have real needs and we need to talk without one single particular person throwing negativity around. If you can smell stirfry through a 4" thick wall you should be "IN" a circus, NOT at Disney. Sheesh. Talk about dredging up the past! I'd sure hate to live at your house. Now maybe Ive said enough that you can get this thread shut down (probably your goal since none of us really have "REAL" problems... were all just spoiling our kids and since YOUR right and everyone ELSE here is wrong this thread shouldn't even exist!)
to everyone ELSE here thanks for the great responses.
