Hi all - okay I'm about to reveal my secret identity. As well as regularly posting on the DIS marathon thread, I also write diet books. I'm coming to end of my new one and I think I need the help of some WISHERS. I have to do a Q&A section for the last page and so I'm wondering if any of you have tried/are using a diet where you eat little and often, 5 times a day, every few hours - or however it was described to you and, fi you did, what where/are your main questions/worries/problems etc. If you have any either PM them to me or post them here and, if I use them in the book (Don't worry no screen names used) I'll also pop you over an answer to help you out. Thanks

That's pretty much how I eat...all the time. :rotfl: I'm not on a diet, so I don't know if I would be much help. I feel much better if I eat small amounts throughout the day, opposed to three meals.

Let's see...problems...feeding a family (DH) who likes meals. He sometimes gets frustrated when we make a big dinner and I just nibble at it because I ate two hours ago.

I think I lack in the fruits/veggies area because my snacks are usually protein/carbs.

Sometimes I'm concerned that I take in too many calories. It's not as easy to keep track of when I'm eating so often.

Hmmm...that's all I can think of now...good luck with your book!

donkey!?! who are you? do we get to know so we can read your books? :)

i'll tell you if you tell me --- LOL

no seriously -- i have never tried the 5-6 small meals a day b/c i have a family to feed. it just doesn't work in the schedule and traditional routine. so that would be my question -- how to make this work while feeding a family who is used to and expects three squares a day?

and one more

after a hard workout - is a mini-meal really enough??

I just started one of those diets today and I would like to know what to do at work. We are always too busy to take a real break. I was doing the lc thing so I would just run to the back and down a lc shake. Now I don't know what to do is their a more balanced shake or should I stick with the lc ones?

Congratulations on getting to the end of one of your "babies."

I have recently begun to try to eat in smaller portions throughout my day because of acid reflux disease. It seems that I feel better with smaller portions.

My question is

How do I make this convenient and well-balanced? It seems that there is a lot of planning needed to get the well-balanced part. A lot of planning does not necessarily equate to convenience to me. Sigh.

thanks everyone - I'm definitely going to use a couple of these, a couple of the others are answered in other areas of the book, but as you took the trouble to post, I'll pop you over 'my humble opinions' in a few days - just let me get the thing finished and I'll PM you all.
