Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

Wow, I just finished that amazing trip report! Sooooooo many photos!! Loved her "food porn" :rotfl:

I have never in my life seen anything like the Monte Cristo!!!!! Turkey, Ham, Cheese sandwhich, deep fried, dusted with powderd sugar and served with a berry puree !!!! :scared1:

hehe I want to try one too - we plan on splitting it amongst 4 of us.

What I'm looking forward to is the kitchen sink ;)

I am hoping to give one of the kitchen sinks a go too but I am thinking that we will probably hardly make a dent in it

Anyways, what I originally came in here to say

there are 7 of us all up so I'm sure we could do some damage

and I'm so jealous of your AUD/USD exch rate - ours is only close to breaking .60c :(

Oh that rate. May it please please please please please please please keep going UP!!!!
I have to say the kitchen sink looks like heaven to me. But with me gluten free and DD dairy free it's one thing we won't be trying :(

I didn't realise they had the kitchen sink in DL. Is that at the Blue Bayou? We forgot to get it at WDW. Ooohhh

I have been contemplating the matching t-shirt thing. I think my girls are still young enough to think that it is a really cool idea, might have to do it :dance3:

Absolutely do it. It is very cute when they are little, :)

We didn't get to do it in WDW either, :sad2:
I had no idea that it was available in DL.

My only problem is my DS would probably eat the whole lot before I sat down:rotfl2:

Ok, I must've missed something - what is The Kitchen Sink?

Yay for the $. This morning it was at .77  :woohoo: :cool1: :yay:

We did matching t-shirts last year. Even poor DH relented to wearing the same t-shirt one day ! :rotfl:

Have to say, as a larger family, we did get a lot of comments on the t-shirts - very positive ones, particularly from CMs, who said it made it so much easier when counting us through on rides / at the entry gate, etc.

The kids and I all loved having the matching shirts, and I'm hoping that DD1, who will be 13 on our trip next year, will still be happy enough to wear them again.

I made these t-shirts with the kids before we left - tie dyed, with mouse ears appliqued in the material of their choice. So easy to pick my kids in a crowd ! :thumbsup2 (Incase it's not obvious, I fully immerse myself in my inner kid - I really couldn't care less what others think. We all had a ball.) :wizard:

Very cool - I could so see me doing this. I'm sewing outfits for my girls -hoping to have at least 1 outfit for the character meals etc.

I love those shirts! Where did you get the Disney ones from? Those ones possibly might squeek by the delicate sensibilities of the kids.

That style of shirt seems to come and go on the website, with minor variations each year. I just missed the last batch, so am keeping a close eye for more.

I'm addicted to the site, though - I also bought a set of Mickey luggage / laggage tags / pull-along back packs for the kids for the trip. The prices are very reasonable (esp. if you get sale items), and I was receiving them about 48-72 hours after ordering them !

I used to love shopping on the disney site - another is www.disneydeals.com all the same thing just a different section of the website. (ETA: whoops looks like they've stopped that section - it was my favourite one hehe)

How much is shipping? since the surface shipping option is no longer available it became to prohibitive for me to shop on there. I used to order lamps and stuff though for the girls bedrooms so not small items.

I sometimes wish we'd taken the job offer in Aussie then I could be excited about the exch rate too haha.

ETA: you can also make your own tshirts - you can buy transfer paper and print the stuff from your computer and iron it on to a plain tshirt :) I've made a couple in the past for my girls for kindy etc.

Shipping is always the killer. The best advice in my books is to find lots of things on the site you want to buy to make the shipping worth the expense. For eg., for the luggage I bought, I also ordered a heap of other things, and I got it at 1/3 the original price (about $40 AUS from memory), so I was happy to pay the $30-odd for shipping. Was still a great deal in my book ! I guess it's all relative, though. The other factor is that when I bought it, the dollar was well past 90c.

Oh and, we also did the transfer thing - I made some of the matchstick picture shirts...

that tshirt is fantastic - I'm sure I'll be able to get DH to wear one of those as it's not too out there :)

I used to order lots of stuff from the US when our dollar was good too - mostly fabric - which is good now as I think I have at least an airfares worth of fabric here that I can sell for spending money haha. It's stuff that is just so hard to find in NZ.
