Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

We'll miss it by one day! You'll have to take some photos for the rest of us :thumbsup2

I have to remember to print out all of the park hours etc. That can be today's job I think.

4 days to go :woohoo::woohoo:

9 days to go here, very excited!!
I might take DS to see the new Tinkerbell movie this weekend :)
$9 tickets is a pretty good deal

Hi guys.

Well we have been here since Friday. Thought I would check in here as we are back at the hotel getting ready for the ToT party tonight.

It is soooooooooo much fun  We have walked onto virtually every ride this week (except for Sunday, which was somewhat busy, but not insane) crowds have been very good - I think I worried for no reason after reading many reports on DIS.

Everyone has been really nice to us. Food is taking some getting used to, and I am sorry if this offends anyone but churros = blech  much prefer a warm cinnamon donut.

Anyway, gotta go dress up as a cowgirl. Will pop in a bit later.

xxxxx

Sounds like so much fun Aussiegirls. Have fun at the tot party tonight. I have to agree that churros have nothing on a fresh cinnamon donut, but I still love churros :)

Gosh I wish I was there.

We finally made it to Orlando. Have been here since Sunday, and have had 2 park days. Have been following the touring plans crowd calendar, and the predictions have been spot on. The longest waits we have experienced are for character greetings.

V Australia were great. Delta customer service would be the worst I have ever experienced. We had planned on using the kerbside check-in, as we have so much luggage, but could not use it as we had 'special items' (car seats). I asked the guy at the counter where we had to go to check-in and where the luggage carts were, and he kept on saying he would help us, depending on how much we were prepared to slip him. I went in search of luggage carts, and he still kept asking DH how much we were going to slip him.

We are having a great time, and looking forward to our cruise next week.

Just wondering if anyone has used an Australian VISA Debit Card in an ATM in the US recently and if you can tell me what the maximum withdrawal amount was.

If we were using it at an ATM in one of our hotels, the maximum withdrawal was either $200 or $300. IN general ATM's I found $400 to be the maximum. It seemed so ridiculous, and other than Vegas, everywhere else dispensed $20 notes. So you can imagine how thick my purse was. Very annoying.

We used the ANZ Travel Visa and it was great.

One thing that I found shocking was that they never check your signature EVER EVER EVER and at some places, like McDonalds, you just swipe the card through (no pin number, nothing) and that's that.

No wonder they have so much credit card fraud.

Aussiegirls and Jade, glad the trips are going well so far.

Jade - I have to say I found Delta fantastic. We flew internationally with them and then domestically with them 4 times and thought their service was great. Hopefully your bad experience was just a one of. That guy sure did sound annoying.

This must vary a lot depending on where you are. I had to sign everywhere except at Disneyland - and they told me that they only ask you to sign for purchases over $50

It did feel odd not having to sign or use a pin!

Yes, I used an ANZ Visa debit card several times in the past few weeks, and also a CUA ordinary ATM Card.

Had no trouble with any useage anywhere - whether it was used as a credit card, an EFTPOS card or in an ATM.

BUT I think it could be the actual ATM machine itself rather than what card you use, as I know that some machines restict max withdrawals depending on where they are - in casinos they only give a few hundred dollars at best, for example.

Have a chat with your bank and find out if they have any "preferred" ATM buddies in the US.

Largest Visa cash withdrawal using an ATM was USD $750, this was at a Bank of America ATM in a shopping mall, the largest VISA cash withdrawal on a Disney property was USD $400 at the Chase ATM at Epcot at WDW.

Largest and only CUA ATM Card cash withdrawal was USD $550.

We also had excellent service from Delta. Our travel agent actually stuffed up our booking (we would have been homeless for one night!!) and the airline changed dates and sorted it out for us with no charge. Can't complain about that!

Can't believe it, but we are leaving in the morning! :cool1:

This time tomorrow we'll be about 9 hours into our trip. :cool1:

I still have so much to do, I'm not sure why I'm on the internet, lol. Must be getting my last daily 'fix' before only having intermittent access.

Have an amazing time Dollarmite:cool1:

Well we head off on Sunday, 2 more sleeps!! :yay:

Anyway on our return I will promise a detailed trip report and plenty of info on our V Australia flight for those using them.

We will be doing DL of course, DCA, Universal Studios and Seaworld San Diego as well as Hollywood, plenty of shopping and other bits and pieces.
So plenty to report back on.

I would like to thanks all those who contribute on here, it has made the planning and anticipation alot more fun and has added to the excitement of our trip.

Though it's my 4th time to Anaheim this forum has provided me with ideas and places I didn't know about or thought of doing so for that alone it's been great.

So we will see you on the flip side in a couple of weeks...for those going in the meantime enjoy, and to 'Melbarkwith', I think you go the day after us, so no doubt we will pass each other somewhere along the trip without realising, but have a great time and and to everyone else see you all soon...

Cheers
:cool1:

Have a great time Dollarmite. The weather is so hot here in Orlando. It was freezing when we got here on Sunday, but has been getting warmer and warmer.

Ms Shuttergirl & oz-kateer, thanks for the reassurance about Delta. We also had trouble with the check-in guy (argued with us that we didn't tell him we were gate checking the stroller). We fly back to LA with them in a couple of weeks.

We have been upgraded on our cruise :cool1::cool1:

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes, as well as the advice and info in this thread.:flower3:

I hope everyone who is heading off soon has a great trip! :thumbsup2

Have lots of fun Dollarmite and Dave73!

I can't believe that we are going in 2 days :goodvibes We have LOTS to do today. Need to do washing :laundy: and finish packing princess:

I'm so looking forward to getting back to DL and blocking out the real world for a couple of weeks.
